chocolate cherry vanilla shake

Postby MomJackieLee » June 3rd, 2004, 4:05 pm

My kroger was out of diet root beer today when my order came in (drat!) and I really wanted to try the vanilla root beer float. Well, they did have something called Canfield's Diet Chocolate Cherry soda, so I tried that with the vanilla medifast and it WAS SO GOOD!!!! :chef:

Just wanted to share!!!

Canfield's Diet Chocolate Cherry soda

Sounds great!! One tiny reminder: ALL ZERO's across the board, except obviously sodium, that cannot be helped.

One other caveat: Watch for the ingredient called SORBITOL. (see if it’s on your soda can – it replaces sugar for flavor) Take it from a true Medifaster, that experienced it (diagnosis thanks to Unca) this is not for the shaking community. It shall make you gassy-ill, like you have not experienced!

Checked it before I bought it!!!

0 Cal, 0 Fat, 0 Sodium, 0 Carb. Sweetened with aspertame. One of the cardiologists I worked for about 10 years ago used to drink them and loved them.

They are a bit hard to find, but really tasty.

I mix a chocolate shake with Canfield's Chocolate soda almost every night! Quite yummy.

I tried with the chocolate shake mix today an it was even better. I mixed 1/2 can with the mix and ice to get to a creamy consistency, then poured the rest of the can in and stirred. Tasted like an old fashioned chocolate soda from a fountain, if anyone out there remembers soda fountain mixed drinks. Had a soda fountain in the drugstore when I was in high school, and boy could the soda guy come up with some combinations. It's closed down now, I hear...and it was one of the last few around.

Reminds me, I have a 20 yr reunion coming up in the spring. All the more reason to stick to plan!!!

Throw in 1/2 a dozen icecubes in the blender and see what happens.

With the ice cubes, it's VERY CLOSE to having an ice cream float.

I have at least two of these a day - my FAVORITE.

Thanks, Jackie, for jogging my memory about the Canfields Diet Chocolate Cherry Soda. I remember mixing that up with Optifast years ago. I ran out to the closest Krogers this morning, but, wouldn't you know it, they don't carry it any longer. So, the hunt is on!

It was one of my favorites, also.
