I'm supposed to go to that Egyptian exhibit with him at the Kimbell during the day Saturday, and then to dinner and a movie with a friend that night (because I absolutely refuse to cancel plans with a friend for a date with some guy - unless it was for the skills thing, but that would be more for the event than for him). I'm hoping my pudding arrives tomorrow, though (then again, I'm enjoying the oatmeal again, and I just discovered sugar-free Jell-O pudding in dulce de leche; holy COW, that stuff is good). Medifast needs to come out with dulce de leche, too. Sigh.

My "has to be organic" husband's latest treat favorite are the limited edition dulce de leche Oreos. My mother send him three boxes for Christmas since you can't get them here. They are locked safely away in a his closet but he still counts them...

not a fan of the dulce de leche... talk about sweet! but to each their own :)

glad you will have some pudding robin. just let me know when you are ready for another get together. i may put out a topic for dfw get together in early february.

feeling much better today, and close to 100%. still did not sleep last night and forgot to take melatonin. tonight have church and prayer meeting, so will take it right when i get home and try to crash early. still have not caught up on everyone's journals - biki, have no idea how you do it! kudos to you~

today's menu:

7-cocoa
10-chocolate bar (yum! i have been forcing myself to use up some of my other bars and alternating, so was VERY happy to see this in my bag today). it did no last as long as my other bar on monday (1-1/2 hours) lol
1-L&G salad with chicken breast (lunch w/friend)
4-RTD french vanilla (haven't tried that flavor yet, so will give you the verdict tomorrow -- am not a fan of french van as it is usually so much sweeter)
6:30-cocoa
9 (so i can hit the sheets early) - chicken noodle soup or pudding (depends on temperature) :)

can't wait to weigh in on sunday - am hoping i will finally be in the 220s ~ :)

END OF JAN GOAL: 210s
END OF FEB GOAL: OneDerLAND ~
END OF MAR GOAL: 190s

all goals are very adjustable, and if I am at 229 this weekend (or lower) then I think losing 10 more pounds in last week of month is very doable. and then giving myself a month to lose 10 lbs is good -- not expecting miracles but thing 10 lbs month is good goal and can adjust as needed

Good for you! I love mini-goals! Especially ones that aren't set in stone. They've been very helpful to me!

Sorry you didn't sleep last night, hope you catch up soon!

Hey Dede! Hope your puppies are all doing well! I had read in your log about the mini goals but also them not being set in stone to curb the disappointment, and I liked that! Do not want to set myself up for failure.

Did sleep good last night, but again, had a hard time getting to sleep. I think some of it is just lack of time and all the things i have to do at home. I have to catch up on personal email, this forum and just talking to friends. But I still have my normal nightly to dos (bible study, church, aa meetings)... So my 3-day weekend is very much needed and will come in handy.

We have a freeze coming in and may get ice/snow, so it will be a good weekend to just stay inside as much as possible. :) Can work on my cross stitch and play catch up.

Today's menu:

7-mocha (cocoa w/coffee)
10-s'mores bar (didn't care for it too much today ~ funny how our tastes change in this program)
12:30 - salad with tomatoes & bell peppers & chicken breast & viniagrette (treebirds - YUM!)
3:30 - cranberry mango mixed with dr pepper (since i forgot my tangerine soda!)
6:30 - cream of chicken with 1/2 stalk celery
9:00 - cocoa

can't "weight" until sunday ~

today i am feeling pretty good, though i did not sleep well!!! i think my hormones need adjusting... i will have to make an appt. i do have a 3 day weekend coming up, and i will definitely be sleeping in until at least 7:30 tomorrow! plus, with possible ice, chances for a nap are pretty darn good! lol ~

today's menu is ~

7-cocoa
10-chocolate bar (yum!) i actually forgot my bag today as i woke up late, but this is what my "emergency" bar stash has in it :)
12:30-chili (not as good as i remembered last time i had it)
3:30-cranberry mango
6:30-turkey breast marinated in ken's lite italian dressing, sauteed w/olive oil pam and mushroom/tomato/onion/greenbean mix
9:00-cappucino (just cause i haven't had one in a while)

saturday

Postby casma500 » January 13th, 2007, 11:26 am

started this cruddy weather day out a little differently ~ took my roommate out to breakfast for his birthday, and had my l&g there. was very worried about the hashbrowns & grits (my favs -- sweets are not my hardest thing to resist)~ so i told him to NOT let me have any and he helped me with it. and i did sleep in until 8 (VERY late for me!) so i will be eating my meals closer together today to fit them all in ~ i am also concerned i will get hungry since i ate my l&g as first meal of the day.

today's menu ~

9:30 - 2 eggs with tomatoes & mushrooms
12-cocoa
2:30-cream of chicken soup
5 - bar (caramel nut)
7:30-choco pudding w/lemon crystalight
10 - cappucino or cocoa

Did have some mental issues yesterday with not having a meal in the evening, so I definitely have to watch that. I did eat 2 scrambled eggs again last night, to combat it, which definitely added cholesterol & calories that i did not need, but I wanted to stay in ketosis and that helped. My roomie wanted me to eat breakfast with him again this morning but I was good ~ plus, that is just way too many eggs already! I can have them more often once i get my order in. SLept in again today, due to it being an ice day (no church services). Today's menu....

9:30-cocoa w/coffee
12-chicken w/wild rice soup (forgot just how good that is!)
2:30-chocolate pudding with caramel flavor SF syrup (new recipe to try)
5-blackened shrimp with garlic; italian green beans w/diced tomatoes
7:30-cranberry mango w/tangerine RC soda
9:30-cappucino
i already have 2 16 oz bottles of water in me, so anticipate at least 10 btls today ~

sounds like you are doing great....

i like reading what your L&G's are.. give me good meal ideas! Thanks...

I have issues too when i don't have my L&G for dinner... i've tried it for lunch a few times, and i've been okay, but i miss that dinner meal, and i don't think i'd make it if i had it for breakfast, so i just stick to my rtd's for breakfast.

Hope you have a great day!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 14th, 2007, 12:44 pm

Glad you got to sleep in a couple of times!

I am the same way about my L & G. If I have it for breakfast or lunch, I'm kind of sad around dinner time. I'm such a creature of habit!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi Mary~ You must be getting some of the same weather we are here in MIssouri. We have a great deal of ice also and are expecting more this evening. I sure have gotten a lot of laundry done today.

You're doing great. Keep up the good work! :clapclap:

wow! guess we all are creatures of habit! lol ~ i swear, before this program, i would never have believed i could have eaten so many of the same foods day after day after day... but i just have my favs and actually start craving them if i change it up! lol ~

and yes, dede, the sleep has been wonderful! now to get back on my work schedule
qt - i just got most of my ideas from others, so i try to write them down so i can go back and review my journal for ideas... lol -- if you like zuchini at all, mike's zuchini pie recipe is AWESOME (i'm making it today; i add mushrooms & tomatoes to it, and double it so i have enough for days - it's that good!). And you can change out the zuchini for other veggies if you don't like that, or don't have it. i can't wait for this month's order to get here to try the eggs! but it won't ship until this week, so it will probably be next week before i get to try those.

slept in just a little today; have been up for a little while but did lots of chores first! in the middle of laundry (know what you mean donica!) ~

this is the start of week 2, so no exercising for me still (aw, shucks!) heehee

today's menu ~

9-cocoa
11:30-beef stew
2-swiss mocha shake
4:30 - zuchinni pie with mushrooms & tomatoes
7-pudding
9:30-cappucino

keep it shaking today all~

Well I agree. I never thought I would be able to eat the same foods on a daily basis...I had a friend eating Ranch Doritos(my fave) in front of me earlier...she was gonna walk away with them and I told her no, just stay.I dont mind really. People eat.Nothing I can do about that.I just ate my mint bar and we were cool.

that's awesome debra! ranch doritos are my fav too!! i love them (hence the problem i am in now ~ would eat 1/2 bag at a sitting, sometimes the whole bag!)

but... i just had my stew and realized somehow this weekend's menu never included a bar. not sure why i forgot about them, except that i have moved them to their own shelf and may not have looked at them while i was deciding. so.... since i have done ok the last two days without them, i think i will not eat any this week and next and see how i do. it may help with my first mini goal of getting into 210s by EOM. That means i would have to lose 11.5 pounds in the next 2-1/2 weeks, which, while not impossible to be sure, will be rough to do. nancy was not a daily bar person, and look what it did for her! once i start exercise i will have to have more calories, so i may have to add it then (or maybe the soy crisps). just a revelation~ :)

Just checking in to say hi. Sounds like you're doing great, though! (And I was the same with my L&G. I had mine early a few times, and I did OK, but it just wasn't the same. I liked having dinner to look forward to later on.)

hey robin ~ yes, so far, pretty good. biggest problem has been all the down time with 3 days off and no place to go in this weather.

isn't it funny about the l&g?? i wonder if that is just part of our habits we are developing (or really, have developed since we were young -- dinner was always the big meals for most people). anyway, glad i tried it, and learned from it.

i made mike's zucchini pie tonight - with a mexican twist! it was awesome!! next time i think i will use anaheim or poblanos in place of the zucc and make it a total mexican dish. in the meantime, i have meals for the next 3 nights, which is always nice :) glad other people experiment and give me things to fiddle with. i can always fiddle with recipes, but am not creative enough to just invent new dishes.

still have 2 supplements to fit in, and i think one will be pudding tonight - just need to decide on a flavor.
