Tax Break Specials for April

Hi, Kids!

:x Bad News…Income Tax Time is upon us… :kool: Good News…we have some product specials if you find yourselves a few shekels short.

As you may (or may not) know, Medifast has a product line especially for adolescents, ages 10-16. It’s called Fit! (I’m sure MF named it Fit! because it is designed to keep kids healthy and FIT but I sometimes wonder if it got its name because at times our kids give us a FIT!)

This month we feature three of our Fit! Products on sale.

Yep, we deducted dollars to help you out this month. Don’t have kids at home? No worries! The MakeMeThinner cottage is currently kidless – our favorite daughter and only kidlet is now 30 years old but Terry and I use the Fit! Products for ourselves. Virtually the same formula as the MF 55 shakes and Pudding.

Fit! Creamsicle (orange flavor) and Fit! Vanilla shakes Regularly priced $13.85 per box of 7 packets Now $10.50 per box

Fit! Chocolate Pudding Regularly priced $12.75 per box of 7 packets Now $10.00

The Fit! Chocolate Pudding is really good and is a perfect late evening low calorie snack.

It is considered a meal replacement and it can be used as one of the 5 Medifast meals for folks on the 5 and 1 Program.

Put 4 ounces of cold :water: water into a small bowl, add one packet of Fit! Chocolate Puddin’ mix and whisk like mad for a minute or two until it is creamy and smooth.

We like it with a drop of almond or a drop of orange extract. Put it in the refer for 10 minutes and enjoy. Sometimes Terry makes bananner cream puddin’ and I make chocolate puddin’. We then share and make a parfait with layers of chocolate and banana pudding.

 The incidence of obesity and weight-related health issues is increasing among our youngsters. Overweight children tend to remain overweight as adults. While we certainly do not advocate restricting calories for children and teens because they are still growing, we do recommend replacing several of their sugary/high fat/high calorie snacks with a healthy and tasty Medifast meal replacement product.

Kids need to eat often – as much as six times a day.

Our Fit! Products provide a super snack substitute for the  skanky stuff kids usually grab when on the go.

I kid you not, every morning the middle schooler on our corner has a can of Mountain Dew and a Pop Tart or a Hot Pocket (sometimes cold pizza) for brekkie while waiting for the bus to take him to school. Imagine! He has a sugar and caffeine jolt and in less than an hour he will need to look :snooze: alert in Mrs. Sanguine’s History class…

Just like all of our miraculous Medifast products, the FIT! line is low in fat and yet contains 24 essential vitamins and minerals. It contains a high amount of our Supro™ brand soy protein and provides up to 35% of the RDA value of calcium and 50% daily value of magnesium, two minerals that are important for proper bone growth and nervous system development.

Serve your kids a Fit! Shake (or a Fit! Ready-to-Drink shake) or a Fit! nutrition & energy bar as a snack 1 – 3 times daily in addition to well-balanced meals.

For Weight Maintenance or Weight Loss – Fit! meal replacements consist of a shake/Ready-to-Drink shake and a nutrition & energy bar. In place of regular meals like breakfast and lunch, use the Fit! meal replacements one to two times a day.

The kid on our street corner would benefit greatly by starting his day with a Fit! Creamsicle shake and a Fit! peanut butter nutrition an energy bar. This program must also include regular nutritious well-balanced meals.
Any weight loss program must be done under the direct supervision of a qualified medical practitioner. Your health practitioner will determine the appropriate caloric intake and plan for your child.

Wondering if it safe to reduce the caloric intake of kids?

Fit! is designed to be a nutritional supplement to a healthy meal plan for older children and is useful for controlling the caloric intake of children. Notice I said controlling, not restricting.

Children and teenagers need more calories by body weight than adults do, but too many calories is just as harmful as not enough. The idea is to avoid excessive caloric intake, thus helping prevent extra calories from sitting in the body and becoming those  nasty fat cells.

They need the right balance of :bib: food and :weightlift: exercise to give them the energy they need to fuel their bodies throughout the day. They should not eat more calories than what they will burn off in exercise that day. Fit! by Medifast is a convenient way to stay healthy, maintain good nutrition and for weight management.
