WOW. They must really like you. Too bad they fall into everything we are trying to fight. Life does not have to revolve around food.

I think you really ARE going to like this place. They seem, so far, like considerate people. If they are all taking you to lunch everyday, maybe it will just be to the hospital cafeteria. If so, I bet you can get salad! You are going to do great. I just know it. I am so happy for you!!

Wow Ark, sounds like they really like you and want to impress you. It is hard to be caught off guard like that. Probably would not have been a good idea to not eat anything. Just dust yourself off and start again.

Congrats on the new job!!

Ark,

You did exactly what I would have done, given the same situation. No sense embarassing all your new co-workers. I'm sure you ate sensibly and are back on plan today. You must have really impressed them in the interview process for them to roll out the
Red Carpet like that. Good for you, you deserve it!!! Have a wonderful first week!!

Thanks Guys. This place is great and I'm really enjoying the friendliness of the whole institution. The hospital that I left was a 1000+ bed facility with around 12,000 employees; whereas, this is a 300 bed facility with about 1700 employees. I've met one person that has been there six months but everyone else has tenure levels of 20 years plus. Looks like people hang around for a while. With treatment like this, why would anybody leave? Off to another great day!!!
