5 week success!

Postby wildtrk » May 18th, 2006, 9:03 am

Just got back from the Doctor's office and got my official 3rd party verification for my 5 week loss. 35lbs was the total loss for the 5 weeks! And my BP is now in a very acceptable range to boot! I go back in 3 weeks for another vist and a blood work-up. Will be interesting to see what my cholesterol levels are. They were well within normal when I started so I am interested to see what they will be 2 months into MF.

Just wanted to toot my own horn a little.

Yep same here...hadn't been to a regular Dr. in years. Last "family Doc" I went to was well over 15 years ago. After some coaxing by my "better half" I went for a general "once over" and blood work up about 8 weeks ago. During my visit the doctor came to the shocking conclusion that I was overweight! The blood work all came back good and all the important indicators were within acceptable levels except my weight. That is unless I was a new born elephant, then I was a little under the norm. My Dr. is a big proponent of MF and suggested that I give it a try. Obviously it has been successful....it does help that I am EXTREMELY focused and motivated to lose the weight. Both for selfish and unselfish reasons. One of the things I do to retain my focus is to use my idle time visualizing myself thin and what it would feel like. Just the act of visualizing my body at my goal weight keeps me going some days.

So for all of those out there just starting, or maybe having a difficult day or week, maybe you can give that a try. Helps me...never know may also help you.

yeah visualizing does help. i have these great shorts that i used to wear when i was around 180 or 170...it would be soo nice to fit into them this summer (i really dont wear shorts but those i loved) havent worn them since 03 :D i also made a tiny photoalbum of pics of me at smaller weights to give remind me i was there before and looked great and can get back to there :D congrats on the weight loss. maybe in a couple weeks i will find a regular doctor and go get myself checked up :D

CONGRATULATIONS!

I am going to try the visualizations. I already have pulled out the old photos to remind myself how I looked back then. I just need to get to some good feelings so I stay focused.

Thanks for the great post! All the cheerleaders are cheering for you

Wildtrk,
I'm so happy your doc's office visit went so well! I'm SO happy for you!

As for the visualizations...I guess I'm backwards...I now have pictures up all over of me at my highest weight with "never again" typed on them...oh well, I do EVERYTHING backwards anyway, why should this be any different?
