Timing

Postby mel » September 8th, 2006, 7:12 pm

I'm sorry if this is discussed somewhere, I thought this would be a good place to ask...

I'm wondering how important timing is with the 'lean and green' meal. Does it have to be the last thing I eat in a day? Can I, say, eat 3 Medifast meals, have my 'lean and green', and then have 2 more Medifast meals?

I'm on an unusual schedule, and that's how it would work best for me. Any enlightenment would be appreciated!

By the way, I started 2 days ago and I'm so glad I found this forum. I think it will really help me on my journey...

You can have your lean and green for either lunch or dinner. :)

You can have it any time of day, but it's actually better to NOT have it as your last meal because it's higher in calories than the Medifast meals. I doubt many people on here have it as their last meal of the day no matter what their schedule, since that would mean having it pretty close to bedtime.

We have all sorts of schedules here, so yours is probably not as different as you think. :) I work from 4 till midnight; some of the nurses here work overnight shifts.

Awesome! That's good to hear, since I had a 5 ounce beef tenderloin in the middle of 'my' day today.

My schedule varies, but I generally get up anytime between noon and 3:00 p.m and go to bed between 4:00 am and 7:00 am. I don't work (yet), I'm a stay at home mom for now, but my husband is a chef (of course, wonderful type to have around when you're dieting), and he usually doesn't get home from work until 11:30 or 12:00 in the evening.

So my third day hasn't been as bad as the first 2, but I've been off schedule today.

I'm going to stop myself now because I'm starting to ramble. It's just nice to be where others are (or have been) experiencing what I am.

Thanks for reassuring me that I didn't have a major mess up by eating meat at lunchtime.

I almost always have my L&G for lunch. I have evening classes that make it difficult, and the only time I have it for dinner is when I am with my honey. You are doing great. Keep it up and there will be a new you in no time. :D

WELCOME, Mel!! Do whatever works for you and your schedule, but as Robin mentioned, not your last meal before bedtime---besides the calories, you are probably looking at a whopper case of indigestion during the night!!! :D :D :D Much success on the program is wished for you, Mel!

And a chef as a husband? Very cool. Challenge him to come up with some great lean and greens for you! And then share the recipes. :)

And yes, welcome!!!
