Shrimp

Never heard that one at all. In fact, in the newest Quickstart Guide, shrimp is listed in the Leanest group on the Lean page. Although looking it up, I found that 3 oz of shrimp has 166 mg of cholesterol. According to the info, that's 55% of the RDA. So, that nutritionist seems to have something there (and I never realized that myself). So, take that as you may.... for me, I may cut back on how much shrimp I have in the future. Wish my Dr. had mentioned this before (but it probably good cholesterol, not bad).

To be honest I'm not that worried about it and probably wont eat this often enough for it to matter. I love shrimp but sadly my fh is not quite as fond of it as I am :( .

I think I get a lot of mixed or partial information from my meetings because they really gear them towards much older and much heavier people since that's the majority of the attending crowd. The two packets they gave me said ABSOLUTELY NO EXERCISE for the first month but then the doctor told me to start after the first week but didn't explain why there was a difference in the packets vs. what he was telling me.

Another question... hey... I warned you in my intro that I talk alot lol

I've never in my life bought shrimp. Does it come out of the shell or do I buy it in the shell have have to take it out myself?

You can buy shrimp pre-shelled, deveined and cooked already for you, or you can buy them raw in the shell or cooked in the shell. Of course the ones that are pre-everything are the best IMO! ;) I buy them frozen like that. Very convenient!

They are high in cholesterol but everything else in this plan is so low I wouldn't worry about it much, I just wouldn't eat them more than a couple times a week. Just my 2 cents!

Oh how yummy that was!! I'm so making this again and again and again lol! It was a bit on the spicy side but I like spicy... unless I used the wrong peppers... I used the kind you'd put on pizza??? crushed red peppers... was that right? lol I really want to try it again using other spices and see how many versions I can come up with too.

Anyway, it was great! I made grilled asparagus as my green and for the first time it cooked perfectly. I really enjoy my veggies overcooked... I know, I'm weird. I think it was cooked exactly how it's "supposed to be" just soft enough but still has the fresh crunch to it.

Oh man I'm so satisfied!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipe! :D :D :D

I'm sorry - LOL - I had to. I couldn't resist! I'm saving my resistence for the next yummy treat my sweet neighbor brings over! (Although I told her I was watching what I eat which is why I sent home the left over treats so I am hoping no more yummy treats turn up) - but I digress...

Bumping just means you are posting to get the post higher on the list. I did a search on Shrimp and didnt know how far down the Lean Cusine forum this would be found so I 'bumped' it to the top. Simply posting in it 'bumps it'.

Make sense?

Wish of the day: I *wish* there was a way to sort the Lean Cuisine section by food type or MF food type. Sorta like the journals - where one thread had all of the fish - and another all the things to do with oatmeal, etc.

Well of course there is a way...unfortunately, at this point, it would take a WHOLE LOT of UNCA work! :D :D Hey unca, kym wants to know if you were up for the challenge of categorizing all of this stuff (but she was afraid to ask). Dont you just hate it when people beat around the bush and hint at stuff? Jeez, all she had to do was ask, the worst you could do is say <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_37.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D23%252F23_2_37/image.gif">

The other thing that makes it hard is when people get off topic... sometimes a thread may be about, say, chicken and the next thing you know its about shiritaki noodles. So, the categorizing wouldn't be all inclusive.
You guys wouldn't know anything about getting off topic now, would you?

Off topic? What's that mean?

You mean we're SUPPOSED to have topics?? Well Hells Bells I suppose we are <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_1_84.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0">

Oh, and no, my wish wasn't a hint. Y'all should know by now I don't beat around the bush - - I'm pretty out there and in yer face about my thoughts :-)

OK, now that we've gotten way <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/im/ot.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"> let's get <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/im/bot.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0">! BUT before we do - while searching Smiley Central for 'Off Topic' I found some REALLY funny ones - lol. I don't think I can post my favorite here but if you search off topic and think about my current life situation I'm sure you'll get it :-) :muahaha:

I bumped this so I can do scampi later this week - I bought some big ole Yummy shrip today! I'm hoping I can close my eyes and pretend they are as yummy as my favs at Del Friscos!
