SHAKE COOKIES/SURVIVAL GUIDE

Postby armeewyf » December 19th, 2005, 9:14 am

Wondering if anyone has tried the shake cookies that are listed to make in the Holiday Survival Guide? I am thinking that they may help me get thru this week...

ALSO, can I make them more than once a day? (a Nancy question probably!)...and have the 5 cookies count as a shake each time? Or is this something that should only be done once a day?

Thanks!

Dear Lee Ann ~

Re: The Shake Cookies:

I have not personally tried them - I only have Dutch Choc shake packets in my pantry - maybe I'll try them out later.

There is no reason why you cannot have them more than once a day - there is nothing added to them that would interfere with your weight loss program. You may not feel as full eating them five times a day as you would by drinking a shake because the volume may not be the same - just be sure to drink plenty of water!

P.S. You've been missed, Little Darlin'....

For those of you that do not have the Holiday Survival booklet, here is the "Shake Cookies" recipe

1 packet Medifast Vanilla Shake
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
small dash of salt
2 packets Splenda™ sweetener
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup water

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Spray a foil lined oven-proof pan with no fat cooking spray. Drop mixture by teaspoon into the pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Makes approximately 5 cookies.

I made the shake cookie recipe but put the shake packet mixture into ONE little tart pan - they actually taste really good but they come out SOGGY. Is there any way to firm them up a little? By the way, I used Dutch Chocolate and instead of vanilla extract I used Chocolate Cookie Dough Davinci syrup.

They are probably soggy because they were thicker in a tart pan than they would be on a cookie sheet. Perhaps use a little less water when making them in the tart pan or baking them a bit longer. Thank you, Lisa.

OK, I tried them last night. They were soggy and they were just yucky! Is there something I can do to fix the soggy thing and get a better taste? Any jazzing up allowed?

Thanks!

Hi, I don't make the cookies, I'm a simple MFer :D , but I read on another sight that if you make the cookies really thin and bake them longer than the recipe says, they aren't soggy.
