Hey Tracy,

The couch to 5k plan is on www dot coolrunning dot com. You will see the link from the main page. Good luck - I really enjoyed doing that plan!

And you're right, being thinner is fantastic! Now if I could only stop looking at myself in the mirror so often...

Before you keep reading, please go to Tawanda's journal and read Lauren's post about exercise. Really. It's a great read and will probably be more useful than the rest of my post :D

Last night's kickboxing class wasn't as hard as the first night but it was still tough. It is so much fun to knock the crap out of body bag with my elbows, knees, legs and fists. The warm up seems to be the hardest part of the workout for me - jumping rope, squats - not all that much fun. But even my butt is sore so I know I was really working. 3 more days to go this week! If anybody is considering putting off exercise, maybe reading Lauren's post will help you reconsider. The endorphins are totally worth a stall. By the way, I never had an exercise-induced stall. I've done things from going to Curves to jogging to a "natural" gym to kickboxing and the weight keeps coming off as I exercise.

I am still not quite ready for any kick boxing just yet - heck I can barely stand on my ankle -- BUT I can't wait to really get into a good cardio work out. I am thinking something more low impact though until I am 100% on the ankle -- probably spinning or something like that.

Thanks for your note in my journal - you called me cute

Speaking of kickboxing, Bren, it seems like all I can do once I get home is eat and go to bed. I'm gonna try the noon class today and see if I have some more energy throughout the rest of the day. The 5:30 class is great, but afterwards, I'm pretty much done for the day. And you are cute!!!

Soj! It's great to see you! See, I forgot all about the sweaty crotch woman. Maybe that's why I quit going to that gym. Yeah, that was why, not my extreme bouts of laziness  I already have my eye on a couple of dresses. Plus the one's in my closet I can't wear yet. I'm always prepared for lower weights just in case they happen. In fact, I think I'll go ahead and order the one(s) from BR that I want.

I went to kickboxing yesterday at noon and it made a huge difference. I wasn't starving afterwards and ate sensibly for the rest of the day. I think having a meal right before class helped. Today is our off day but we're back at it in the morning at 9. I'm actually enjoying it much more than I expected and I wish I could go today. Kinda scary.

Wow, my ears were buzzing, Queenie, and I was just drawn to your journal! What do ya know, all these fun references to lil ol' me! :-) Thanks for the kind words, but you, lady, are the one who put them into action. That rocks!

If you ever go through a slump again, instead of looking to my posts (which you always can, of course!), I'd recommend you re-read your OWN posts. You have been one of the most obviously enthusiastic exercisers here, when you are full-throttle immersed in the exercise scene, your posts are practically jumping out of the computer screen, you're so hyped up! It's awesome to see/read, and that's the stuff that should motivate you if you ever need it again.

You're kicking butt, Queenie, er, uh, you're getting your butt kicked in class - but either way, you rock, and keep on keepin' on!

Cheers -

Lauren

Hey E,

Thanks for stopping by. Kickboxing is still kicking my butt but I like it more each time I go. Other than that, things are pretty uneventful for me which I guess is why I haven't posted much lately. Hope you're doing well.

Good evening!

It is just after dinner here in Calif and I was happy to see you visited!

Thank you for the encouragement :D

I hope things are going well...sometimes even the boring stuff can be worth writing about (case in point, my journal, walked the dog, walked the dog, walked the dog)

Well time to yell at the kids again about finishing their homework :x

take care,
joy

Hol, do you get bored easily with your workouts? I find that no matter how much I like something, I get bored really quickly if we're doing the same thing all the time. Plus I'm lazy!

And Joy, maybe you're right. Being compliant is relatively boring compared to the drama I cause myself by eating crap and not exercising. I should write about the boring things so I can remind myself that those boring everyday details are what keep me on track. Thanks :)

I finally made it to the gym on campus and did the stairmachine. I actually did both the stepper one and the one that looks like an escalator because the escalator ones were both in use when I got there. It is warming up here...those 92.5 inches of snow this winter made me think spring might never come but it's on it's way!
