I am proud of myself!!

Postby Leslie36 » February 20th, 2006, 11:05 am

My hubby and I went out of town this weekend on a youth retreat with our church youth group, our preacher and his wife. I had to deal with multiple fast food trips and I didnt slip!! I did eat a grilled chicken salad at McDonalds though (although I did use my walden farm dressing packet instead of anything they had) I won't be eating any more of their salads after reading that post on here about fast food salads ugh  The only thing i did wrong was I didnt drink enough water because of being on the go and I was worried about bathroom stops. I was paid a compliment also by my preacher and his wife. They said you must have a will of iron because they said they didnt think they could resist all that fast food. :D :D :D My hubby was great this weekend too! He made sure to take me to get food that was legal after everyone else ate the junk!! I got grilled chicken breast from Logan's steakhouse and fresh veggies and one night I had a small steak and grilled veggies and the rest of the time it was shakes and my one bar a day!!

You're on your way to a very healthy lifestyle too. Soon those extra pesky pounds will be a thing of the past -- say goodbye forever to them -- they won't be coming to revisit you!!

Leslie,

All I can say is :yourock:

You did EXCELLENT!! Going out of town and going out to eat are the toughest challenges for me! I avoid them for that reason.

You SHOULD be proud of yourself. Heck, I'M PROUD OF YOU!!

Keep up the great attitude and great job!! :trophy:

What an accomplishment!! You are sure to reach your goal with will power like that. :weightlift: I am not sure I could go into a McDonalds I use the drive thru when the family wants it and that's bad enough!!!

We all face that test everyday and you came out on top !!!! You have every right to be proud of your accomplishment and it's a lesson well learned for you and all of us. You CAN eat right when out of the house. it just takes a little more will power and it can be more work to order what you SHOULD eat and not what you WANT to eat. Most all restaraunt's have items on the menu that we can eat but you usually have to flip through all the YUMMY things first.

WAY TO GO !!!

Thanks for proving that it IS possible to eat out and still stay on the plan.

My boyfriend and I eat dinner at home mosts nights (even before MF)--I usually do the cooking. And by "usually," I mean "always."

He thanks me for cooking all week by taking my out on Friday nights since Friday is an extra long day for me at work. I'll probably skip dinner out for the next few weeks, but will look forward to it in the future.

Great Story! Thanks!

It was very tempting to have something I shouldn't have especially since I was out of town. What kept me in check was the thought of enduring the first 3 or 4 days again!! No thank you, and also this is also about breaking my addiction to food. I was scared if I gave in, I might go on a foodie binge.
Thank you to everyone for the nice comments, I hope my post is encouraging to others as well!!
