Ongoing Love Affair with Medifast...

Post your weight loss successes or failures here...:)

Lauren, thank you for all the recent posts you've shared here today. The bottom line is that the program works if you do it. My mindset started out that this was the last program that I was ever going to do because this time I wasn't going to decide that feeding my emotional side was more important than getting healthy. I can't say staying on program has been easy every day......but it has been worth it more than I could ever imagine.

I feel for those who still are trying to have both the lasting weight loss and the food items that they want to continue to eat. I've been there and it wasn't a nice or happy spot to be in.

I wish I knew the what makes being compliant so doable this time compared to all the programs/diets/promises to myself that I've made over the last 15+ years. But, this time, I do have the momentum and the means to get to my goal weight and stay there forever. For that, I'm forever grateful to MediFast and to Nancy.

Thank you again for sharing.

Great post as usual, Lauren! I've had several similar experiences and find it hard to put into words. You have a way with words....I can feel the joy! BTW, my latest NSV involved sitting by a pool in a tankini and not feeling like a freak, hehe.

It's funny that you should post about something that I've been thinking about bringing up lately. Coming back from vacation and trying to catch up on reading, I've been sorting through alot of program manipulation. Just this morning when I ran into this post, I was formulating a post in my mind.

I wanted to open a discussion about my observation that the successful Medifasters for the most part don't play with the program. They just do it. They don't get fancy and they don't complain (you're getting much better, bebes  ). They just do it! Just look at all the big losers. They aren't trying to find ways around the program. Keeping it simple seems to be a great path to success.

We've all rationalized our way to obesity. I think Medifast works so well because it doesn't give us leeway to rationalize. The "rules" are simple. We all learned to follow rules in first grade. If we follow the rules, success will follow.

You are so right, Lauren, when you say just follow the program and clarity will follow.

Jo, I hope you do start a thread about this.....something that can be pulled up on occasion to remind everyone (and to underscore it for those just starting the program) to not worry about manipulating it and to quit trying to justify tweaking it with off program foods. We are so lucky that we have so many, who made it to goal and are maintaining, that are willing to continue to post, journal and share their program insight with those of us who are still working towards goal.
