Mom and Me and My Weight

Postby mytime » June 27th, 2005, 8:25 pm

Well in the middle of day three I got a call from my Mom that we were taking some workers to lunch tomorrow to thank them for their hard work. Is anyone familiar with the concept of defusion of responsibility ? At any rate I have been the only fat person in a family of four for oh about my entire life. Actually trippled my birth weight as an infant and was put on nonfat formula. It has been a bruden to my mother and a badge to me for many years. I have waited a long long time to put down the sword and stop fighting this. This really is my last stand as the rebel. I told her I was doing MF and I could hear the hitch in her voice. I have been on every diet and I am not going to list them but will mention my parents also sent me to fat camp right before high school. They did every single thing they could to help me. I just could not put the fork down. Anyone who knows me would tell you I am extremely dedicated and hard working - when it come to others. I am asking if you would please just think of me at lunch time tomorrow and send me some MF only energy.I need to keep this my battle and no getting sucked into cheating or here honey just have a little or do you want to share or 5 million questions about what I am doing. I am done with that part of my life. I mean it. Mytime

WOW... I will definitely be thinking of you while I eat my tasty MF chili w/ crackers for lunch!

Have you been to a doctor to have your thyroid checked? Do you snore? Is it possible you have Sleep Apnea (which can totally lower your metabolism?) It's not *always* the fault of the fork... Sometimes, it's the fault of the genes... I have Sleep Apnea & getting treatment for it was the *only* thing that made Weight Loss possible for me...

This is a great decision you've made! Remember that at lunch tomorrow!

And, take it from someone who goes out to eat *a lot* (I have to... It's part of my boyfriend's job... He's the manager of a fancy steak house), it gets easier and easier to special order every time you do it!!!

In fact, I'll decide what I'm having *way* before I even get *near* a restaurant. Last time, I had poached fish (poached in water!), with steamed asparagus. Make your decisions now & then just stick to them.

:-)

Let us know tomorrow how lunch went!!!

Mytime~~I will definitely be thinking of you today as you go to lunch. Eating out doesn't have to be difficult if you just make up your mind you are going to order food that is compliant with your lean & green. Of course, it depends on where you go to eat. You can do it, mytime. Hang in there, girl.

THANK YOU GUYS - I am sneaking a peek in the middle of waiting for my next appointment - I don't get much online time here - I actually have to work  hehe. Anyway - I am reading for strength and inspiration and cannot thank all of you enough - really. I have decided to have a fast soup right before we get to the resturant. I don't know why but they seem to help me feel more stable ? I know I need the potassium and sodium right now - well anyway I will defintely keep you posted and thank each and every single one of you. You can not possibly know how much this helps me !!!!! At some point I promise I will more than return the favor- I feel the MF force is with me and certain of my course. With gratitude- 8) Mytime.

Great planning Mytime,
That's the key to this "plan". You're going to succeed at this.

First off I want to thank everyone for all of the support ! It really made the difference for me. I made it and am facing the end of day four.

Now for the hard to take news and a quetion. I have been living off of the RTG shakes - I love them and they fit my lifestyle so well. I just read Sable's post that it is going to be -gulp- weeks before we can get more. I hate to be such a trauma queen but yikes ! I do not like the vanilla and do like the regular ones but it is so hectic !

My husband has promissed to purchase a Magic Bullet for me tomorrow at Wallmart and I called Bonnie my health advisor to try and get an idea of the status on the RTG. She suggested the kids shakes - which I know they sent Sable - so are they any good ? The same ? Ok - now I know I am nuts. I will calm down and wait for the word from Bonnie. I should be celebrating my success I know - so Boo hoo hoo I will get over it - again many thanks, HANG TOUGH TEAM -Mytime

I just read all of your support again and again had to say thanks - complaining about the RTG seemed anticlimactic - YOU GUYS ROCK and I LOVE THE SUPPORT. I will just start mixing my own.

Another thing - quickly - I took one of my shakes to Starbucks - I do not drink coffee but asked that they blend my shake with ice and water - they did and it came in their fancy cup logo straw and all. I spoke to the manager later that day and they cannot do this on a regular basis due to concern about people allergies - they would have to disinfect the blender everytime - but I found a small local coffee house near one of my jobs and they had no problem with it - so a small tip for those awaiting a Magic Bullett - or just wanting a shake in a fancy cup  Mytime

And I didn't get to say anything to you before your luncheon unfortunately, but I am sooooo proud of you and your accomplishment yesterday. Don't you just feel like superwoman now???

First of all I love the name MYTIME!!! Hooray for you and don't you DARE let anyone including your beloved mother try to make you stray from this. Christie and Shelia - thank you, I have guts beyond reason - we all do, that and grit or we wouldn't be doing MF . The way I see it, it is free advertising for them and I was going to pay them ... So funny Mom, Mom , Mom - going to be my biggest challenge.

Christi - about other people this really burned me up today. I like both you and Shelia am blessed with an awesome husband. No matter how heavy I have been relationships with men have never been a problem - I think it is the guts thing to tell you the truth. Anyway I was telling my coworker who is attractive and 38 and wanting badly to get married and have children about my doing MF. She has 20 pounds to lose and thinks this is why she is single - I know why but won't bore you. Anyway to her credit she lost 20lbs this last year. Complaining and eating crap like we all have done in the past - but she has never been overweight. This was her first diet. So I tell her about my MF and she sayas "Oh so you are doing it the easy way." AH WHAT ? I am only on day 5 have one adult or 6 small children worth of weight to lose and have been dizzy and crazy over the last 5 days and this is easy. You know I didn't say a word. Because this time I am not trying to get other people to understand. I HAVE FINALLY FOUND A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE GET IT AND ME. But dealing with the peanut gallery is going to be tough. Mytime

That whole "doing it the easy way" thing is nearly enough to get somebody hurt around here :? I mean REALLY!! What exactly would be the "hard" way?? lol

But anyway.......One of my co-workers has been on vacation for a month. She is VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY outspoken and says things before she thinks (so much like me) but is also verrrrrrrrrry encouraging and an awesome lady. At any rate........she was just going onnnnnn and on and on and on yesterday about how I look and how "skinny" I am, and says "How did you do that?" Now I have told Judy allllllllll about this plan and she's heard me talk about it, but yesterday I had to say "Judy I did what I said I was going to do!" She said "OMG did you really? I think maybe I should do that then because it really works!" 8) But when I was telling her about it in the very beginning she didn't understand and thought it was to extreme and a bunch hog wash.

People in the general public just don't understand what isn't on every infomercial or in every magazine or in every book they see at Borders lol. To them, this must be just another fly-by-night scam we've found in the back of an obscure magazine I guess. The best news I can give you about this is as the weight starts falling off of you EVERYONE will notice!!! All day long I have two ladies at work who will see me in the hall and say "here comes skinny...look at how skinny she looks".....and I mean everytime they see me  And it's all mainly because every woman in my office is dieting and has BEEN dieting since I started medifast and I am the ONLY one who has lost any weight

So............all these silly people we have in our lives.....lol........sometimes including our own family.......I say.......well, I can't say what I say here lol ;)

Have a great 4th of july weekend! We're having a luncheon today for our fabulous little intern who is leaving but I am taking a bar with me. I'm down to 150.0 this morning and I am DETERMINED to get to 149 by this weekend hehe.

Christie - thanks so much for your posts they really help !!! You are so funny. I am a little worried about everyone noticing and how to handle that. I am going to read other posts b/c I am sure I am not the only one. The only other negative I have had also from a co-worker is - "Oh ... it is a liquid diet, um hmmm." So many neh sayers (sp). Anyway I know you are having a hard time and I hope you saw my post on your thread. I just wanted to take a minute here to say I am really pulling for you and am ready willing and able to offer any support I can. Our interns are leaving also and I am having a big party at my house on Saturday for them and my office manager's 50th Birthday. Can't believe it was my idea Yikes. Anyway bring your bar to your luncheon - I love my one a day - and I look forward to watching you ticker move to 140 something :-P All the best to you and your family, Mytime
