Genie Francis of General Hospital Fame Joins Medifast as New Spokesperson

Francis, known to fans as Laura Spencer, to become focal point of new marketing campaign

OWINGS MILLS, Md., May 31, 2007 -- /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medifast, Inc. (NYSE: MED) announced today that General Hospital's Genie Francis will be the new Medifast spokesperson. Francis has played Laura on General Hospital since she was 14 years old and is up for a Daytime Emmy this June. Francis was attracted to Medifast because she is a married, busy working mom of two, who is looking to lose about 35 pounds.

Great advertisement in my opinion. Yea Genie! She is also married to Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker of Star Trek: The Next Generation). He could use this program himself (based on the last time I saw him).

Actually, I just read the article (you can dl it from the Medifast site). She discusses her early childhood, when she started GH, her coke and alchohol addiction and how she overcame it... and relapsed in 2002. Her hubby is very supportive (and could lose a few himself ).
Its a good article. This is going to be good for Medifast and TSFL.
