I just turned 30 in may and am a single mom of boy/girl twins. Psych student and professionally I sell luxury cars. My first shake wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! I have 60 pounds to lose till I am were I was a year after my twins were born. When I first had the kids I got back down to size very quickly and have always been very small. Then I got depressed right around the same time I weaned them. Within 4 years I gained 60 pounds and for the last couple years have yo yo's and maintained that very high weights. Right now I am four pounds away from my labor weight; not to good for the self esteem. Luckily I don't show it badly in clothes but I haven't really been able to look at myself or feel pretty in years.

I know what to eat, I know how to be healthy but I feel so badly about myself that I binge anyway. I hope taking the focus off food and paying more attention to feeling good will allow me to get down and stay down. Medifast seems so perfect for this. Just yesterday I stood in the kitchen ready to cook breakfast and almost had a panic attack because I didn't know what I wanted to eat that would be healthy that I gave up and rushed to the gas station only to down chips, candy and juice. I plan to be on this board a lot and it looks to be much better than the others I looked at. I also plan to do the complete plan for a week and then goo to 5 and 1. Just to give myself some distance from food and cooking. I tend to lose pretty fast since I do have a very fast metabolism but I need to support to do what I need to for more than a month.

I have to dress very nice all the time (suits) so I am debating the great clothing problem. My current clothes are already a little big from weight I lost a couple months ago. My first thought was a taking my suits to the tailors but can you keep getting them done over and over? Ross had some very nice suits and I could buy a couple jackets and then matching pants in several sizes. I assume jacket sizes change slower than pants. I am a little scared of waking up, not having anything to wear and going to work naked (really bad dream) does anyone else work in a suit only environment and how did you solve this problem :?

I'm not the suit type so I can't answer your question. I do want to welcome you to mf. If you can stick with it you will see great results. I look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome!! I also have twins, boy/girl who will be 6 in September. I totally feel your pain with the post child weight gain and being at your labor weight. I am now under my labor weight thanks to MF (just this week...I was 250 when I gave birth). When I weaned I was A LOT smaller. It piles on fast!

Good luck, its going to be great to have you around here!

Welcome!
Are you sure you aren't my long lost twin sister that I don't know about? While I was reading your story, it was like I was reading my own story. It was almost scary how similar it was. Don't feel bad. After I had my twins I was back down to my normal size 4 like I hade always been naturally. Over a period of 5 years I gained 80 lbs. Reasons are too long to get into here. Let's just say as far as major life crisis go the "all or nothing" and "when it rains it poors" phrases apply to my situation. I now weigh 216 lbs., right before I gave birth to my full term (carried entire 9 mos.) twin boys I was 199-200 lbs. Right after, when I left the hospital I weighed 177 lbs. You can do this and so can I. We all can if we want it bad enough. Keep in touch. Feel free to pm me if you want anytime. Good luck.

Hello everyone! I just got my box of Medifast goodies today, so I am planning on starting on Monday. I have a family outing tomorrow, so I didn't think that was a good day to start. I hope Medifast works for me, I'm close to my last straw in trying to lose weight....nothing seems to work for me. I need to lose 60-65 pounds. I do have one question before I start.....I didn't buy the Medifast salad dressing, so what kind can I use? How many calories, carbs and fat?

Hi to loriannk....I see you are in Milwaukee. I live in Franklin, Milwaukee County. Feel free to say Hi, since we are neighbors.

Hi There,
Welcome. You will be shrinking. Perhaps you could try some of the better re-sale shops. I know here where I live the Jr. League has a great one. Lots of really nice things at a fraction of the cost. It's a great way to go when parting with the pounds. I have a neighbor who needs to dress for her job also and works in a situation that is not kind to clothes. So she lurks around the Goodwill. It is surprising what she has found. Just takes things to the cleaners, has them cleaned and pressed, and new clothes!!
Now as to the food. It is wondeful because it eliminates lots of choices. We can just mix and eat. Your story is very very similar to lots of others. Dr. Andersen, the founder of Take Shape for Life is busy writing a book which should help us all. Don't know exactly when it will be out....but it's coming. Keep posting ... we'll all be here to help.

Welcome to the Forum. I'm glad you found us!!

I too work in a professional environment (Hotel Sales) and have to wear suits/jackets everyday for work. As I was dropping the pounds, I shopped the outlet stores, Sears and JC Penney's for bargains. I found great Rayon Crepe Jacket/Skirt/Pant Separates in Black & Navy by Rena Rowan at Sears that weren't much money.

I find as long as I have a Black and a Navy Suit I can trade off with different color tops/blouses and have a different look everyday.

Another great option, if you know what size you wear by a particular Designer, is eBay. A couple weeks ago I bought a beautiful Jones New York Navy Blue Silk Pantsuit on eBay (new with tags) for $29.98. And that included the shipping.

I have also found good bargains at Overstock dot com on suits. Hope this helps.

Welcometo MF and the forum... this is the BEST forum. Just remember, the first 3-4 days will be hard, but you can do it. Congrats on starting.
As for suits, my wife says you can have them taken in to a point, but too much and you just need something different.
Again, welcome.

Image We know you will like us, and we will be here to help you every way we can.
Follow the plan, post a lot, :puter: drink lots of water...pretty simple really!

Get through the first few days which might be a little hard :x but it is worth it!
All of us have done it, and so can you!

Hope we can see pictures of you and your sweet twins!
For salad dressing, use a low calorie dressing on the side---dip your fork in and enjoy!

Thank you everyone for the warm and wonderful welcome. Drama Queen, I had never been to that overstock website, that place is amazing! Thank you for the tip.

So for today, I walked into work blindly got a coffee put my splenda in and automatically put my flavored vanilla creamers in. About halfway through the cup I stop and get this "oh sh*t" feeling and tossed the rest of the coffee out. I am still one medifast meal short and had rotisserie chicken for dinner (still need a lean).... The problem? I am FULL! Oh those soy crisps are completely addicting.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

I wear flip flops to work, but I also see a lot of business suits as I've gone size to size in consignment stores and Savers type stores. DQ is right, a few pieces with different blouses will definitely stretch out what you do have until you get into your final size!
