ITS NOT WORKING!!!

Postby Jennmango » August 1st, 2006, 12:14 pm

What am I doing wrong? MF is not working! I lost 6lbs on week one. Nothing on week two. I am on week three and have gained 2lbs back. What is going on! I so wanted it to work this time. I have stuck to it to a "T". :x

Have you tried taking measurements? You might be suprised at the inches lost! Also, consider the time of month :) and the summer heat- water retention can be serious pain!!!

Try posting a typical day of menus- food, drink, etc, and maybe we can all take a look and see what might be up!

Don't get frustrated, it will come off!!! :)

The same thing happened to me. I lost the first two weeks and then nothing for two weeks. It will fix itself.

Personally I would back off drinking that much water. I know for me, when I drink between 70 and 90 oz. a day I do better than drinking 120. I think it floods me to much. Plus with the heat I just couldn't take it. But that's just me.

Are you measuring your steak and chicken?

How much weigh do you want to lose?

i think you might be going too long between your noon and 5 meals. the snack has no calories, really. so you might want to move a shake to that place-- with the dramatic reduction in calories, your body might be seeing the 5 hour gap as a signal that you are starving.

Alex I didnt even notice that, you have a good point. A snack at 3pm isnt the same as having a meal. So you are going 5 hrs between meals.

Based on the weight you need to lose, you are drinking WAY too much water. You should be drinking a maximum of half of your body weight. For instance, if you weigh 300, you should drink a maximum of 150oz. I would assume that you weigh no more than 200 or so, so you need to stop drinking so much water.

I know that Manly & Sharon R. are right about the quantity of water...
I also know that when I go below 4litres/day my weight loss slows significantly (current weight #144). Do be carfeul with water consumption, it's easy to wash out electrolytes! If you feel lightheaded, or in my case headachey, do some boullion- that'll set things straight quickly. With experience, you will learn what your water needs are.
Keep shakin', the weight WILL come off!!!

Also, be sure that you don't exercise too much. A lot of people make that mistake. You have drastically reduced your caloric intake. For the first few weeks (I think I was told 3 weeks when I started), you should not exercise at all. Just go about your normal daily routine. Don't even go for walks. Then, start slowly with a 30 minute walk every other day, then every day, then add some resistance, etc.....And, like someone mentioned, you would be AMAZED at the inches you are probably losing. Hang in there. You will make it!!

If you keep seeing a stall in the numbers, try adding a supplement for a few days. Especially with exercise, it seems to work for several folks on here.

Good luck!!!

Yes we are supposed to have a salad OR a veggie; not both.

2 cups of salad greens with up to 1/2 cup of raw veggies OR
1 1/2 cups of raw or cooked veggies from the allowed list.
