Hot Apple Pie

Postby Nancy » February 27th, 2006, 3:28 pm

Here's a new recipe from my friend Leanne Edwards.

She is the TSFL Recipe Queen...

Hot Apple Pie with Ice Cream

1 packet Medifast Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

4oz of water :water:

Apple
Pie Spice -1/8 teaspoon or more according to your taste preference

1 and 1/2 packette Splenda sweetener, divided (This is optional)

French Vanilla Cool Whip (1-2 T)

Mix Oatmeal with water and the apple pie spice. Add pkg Splenda (optional).

Nuke for 1-1/2 min on high, spread out on a plate, and sprinkle ½ pkg Splenda directly on top of the apple pie.

Let it cool a few minutes so the Cool Whip doesn’t melt...

FYI

There are a variety of Cool Whip flavors and the nutritional content varies slightly among them.

Here's the skinny on the French Vanilla Cool Whip

25 calories
1. grams fat (zero trans fat)
2 g carbs
1 g sugar
0 g protein

This is per 9 gram serving - about 2 small spoons.

:secret: Be careful, Folks...some of us get carried away with a little dab..it can soon become a gob and then the next thing we know we are gobbling up the whole carton... :eat:

Oh, now you're speaking my language, Nancy. I LOVE the French Vanilla Cool Whip. And we all know how I feel about the oatmeal lately. ;)

 Uh oh... that's just great!

:redhead: Now I've contributed to the delinquency of a minor (she's not so major any more since she's been Medifasting!)...

:secret: Now when she's missing from the Forum someday we're gonna find Robin in the dining room with a ring of French Vanilla Cool Whip around her chops and a drizzle of Apple Cinnie on her chin waiting for the timer for her next three hour feeding to ring....she'll bring new meaning to the term "Pie Face!" :roflmao:

:hmmm: And there are people that say they could NEVER go on the TSFL Program,
that it's too restricting,
they say that losing weight cannot be fun...

I say, :coach: get a life! :couch:

We have a blast, don't we?

:devious: And let me tell ya, Peeps, having a thinny life is sure a lot more fun for me than my flabby life.

I feel fabulous now that I am flabuless! :yay: :sheepjump:

On a more serious note, when I started I was really worried about the boredom factor and the lack of variety. And now I'm having a hard time deciding what to have at every meal. (And the darn oatmeal thing is scaring me just a little. I really DO watch the clock and wait till the next time I can have it. That's just not right.)

Ha. Yeah, it was on sale today so I have one tub in my fridge and three in my freezer. I MIGHT be persuaded to part with a spoonful or two. :)

I'm loving the maple brown sugar with a little black walnut flavoring. Yum.

And I'm getting out of control. I had oatmeal three times today!!! I even had it instead of a bar.

Robin you totally crack me up! :hatch:

Like you, I -hated- all oatmeal and now cannot get enough of it. I ration it out, inserting other suplements so that I do not run out of oatmeal. Have you had the peach yet? Oh my word..YUM!!!! It is so satisfying as my last meal of the day, Mmmm!!! I havent tried it with the cool whip though, that would be a very slippery slope for me I think, so its best that I avoid that temptation.

Maybe. I've eaten healthy before, but never the same as this. And I haven't tried the peach yet, but I did order it the other day. I got a sample a few months ago, and gave it away in a trade a couple of weeks ago when I still hated the stuff.

I placed an emergency midmonth order the other day, though - even paid for shipping!! - because I can't imagine getting through the next three weeks without it. (I just hope I ordered enough! I'm getting five boxes, plus two more in a trade. It has to last till around the 25th or so, when my next autoship comes.)
