Girl's Clubhouse: No Boys Allowed!!!

Postby Carrie » March 23rd, 2004, 12:59 pm

Ok Girls,
I don't know about youall, but I have a couple 'days of the month' when I want to eat nonstop. :bib:

Today is one of them ..... and I am going berserk trying to refrain from gobbling anything and everything edible within a 2 mile radius. My body and brain are insisting that I'm *Starving*, and I can't get them to SHUT UP! :brickwall:

Any of you developed any tricks of the trade to help get through this trying time???? Electro-shock therapy??? Wiring the jaw shut??? Bodily Restraint Devices???

Thanks,
Carrie

I'm right there with you carrie. Not only do I have the starving sensation....I have the "If I don't just have one little piece of chocolate I may die" sensation. I have at times had extra shakes when I am like this. I will also pull out the sugar free Torini chocolate syrup and make my shake really really chocolate. This really helps me. The bars helped me during this time too. I rarely order them anymore. I only like the oatmeal raisin ones and I have a hard time staying out of them....so I figure life would be easier without the stress of them. If only there were an anti-PMS miracle drug !!

OH!!

Like this is fair. Restricting boys from "clubbing" with the girls! Nice. Seems slightly "weighted” to one side if you ask me. Poor Mike. There is John who is new to the forum, there used to be Rory, what ever happened to him? Occasionally a guy spouts off and makes a post. What if I make a “boys only” room? Yeesh, I would be all by my lonesome. I can’t even keep Tim on the board for encouragement. Let’s look at the ratio here; about 50:1 can you feel me pouting? Fine… I will just go away…… (Tito, pass me a tissue…)

I at first thought getting in the car and driving around would do the trick, but everywhere I looked I saw fast food places and advertisements for FOOD--EAT--SEE HOW MUCH FUN YOU ARE MISSING!

What works everytime for me now is I log on to this forum, Carrie, and read posts until the feeling goes away. I remember one Sticky from Mike that was particularly useful in getting my tail in gear again.

I sincerely doubt that I would have made it the first month without this support group.

I appreciate each and every one of you.

Methinks Mike doth protest too much.

I hardly think you possess the appropriate equipment to be a MEMBER of this club.

However, ...... the club president (namely, me) might be persuaded to allow you to be the............................. err ........................... mascot.

Or perhaps.........................just maybe
you could be our.............................

water boy.

:pour:

That is, if you think you could perform the considerable duties of such with aplomb.

Dear Carrie aka: FLA-TTD, President: C.G.R.,

1. I don't get water. I am a Man.
2. Just because I chose not to have surgery (bypass or whatever you chose to “remove” from me) and become “equipped” to understand the C.G.R. philosophy is just not fair.
3. I don’t get water. I am a Man.
4. I don’t like Plum’s I prefer Apples.
5. I don’t get water. I am a Man.
6. I am getting in hot water?!?!

Now I am GUIDO!

Hi Carrie!

I know EXACTLY what you're going through! The first time I was on Medifast, I had real hunger problems around my time of the month. It seemed like my stomach growled constantly and I felt ravenous (needless to say, I got really cranky!). When I complained to my doctor about it, he told me to drink an extra shake each day.

So, I adjusted my timetable and drank my shakes closer together. It worked like a charm! And the amazing thing was, once I was past the week of my period, I wasn't hungry any more and I couldn't drink that extra shake every day. It was too much.

Adding the extra shake each day during that week didn't slow down my weight loss either. I guess my body just needed that little extra bit of sustanence to get by.

Hope this works for you too! Good luck!

Pat

Hi Pat!

Thanks for the timely tip. That's one that SEEMS obvious, but I hadn't thought of it, DUH. (Not that I think that clearly this time of the month anyway LOL) I'm gonna try it today and the next few days, hopefully it'll do for me what it did for you.

Thanks!

Carrie

A cup of Chai tea with 2 Splenda packets and 2 tbsp. of fat free 1/2 & 1/2 helps me. The warmth, taste & smell of all the spices and the sweetness of the Splenda are both comforting and satisfying. It works for me during my P.M.S. I get SEVERE P.M.S. every month. My husband knows by now just to stay away from me, and agree with everything I say during that 1 week of the month! ( hee, hee). Hope this helps.
