I Found a GREAT snack!

Postby Mrsshrinkinglady » January 18th, 2005, 8:40 pm

After reading about Mt Olive pickles on another post.I went to their website and took a look at their products.
They have a no sugar added bread and butter pickle that is to DIE for!
It has 1 serving = 6 pickle chips
0 Calories
0 Fat
165 Mg Sodium
<1g Carb
0 Sugar
I don't eat thses every day but I have a serving every couple of days with no problems in losing, and they are very very sweet and yummy.
I would hope these are in the same line as the dill pickles which are on the MF okey dokey list.

Mary, could you please PM me their website? Thanks! (I like sweet pickles, but I don't like dill ones.)

I just found those bread and butter pickles too, and I love them. They also have a sugar free sweet pickle that is 1 calories, and lower sodium than the dills.

My local grocery store has the no-sugar added pickles, so I bought some today. I got the sweet gherkins, because I like those better than the bread-and-butter pickles. Oh, they are good!

Question: How many may I have? The label says that one serving is one to one-and-a-half pickles, and that each serving has "0" calories (yes, zero) and one carb.

I've had four tonight . . . .

Oops...

Edited to add: I was hoping that since they were the gherkins, and smaller than dill pickles are, one might be allowed more than the same number of dills. Oh well, wishful thinking...

I have a question. When you say "2 pickles", do you mean whole ones? I prefer halves and I'm wondering if I'm portioning right. I've seen other posts that say "2 spears" so that's why I'm asking. I love pickles and could eat the whole jar  Thanks!

I'd go with two whole pickles, average size pickles.

Yup, gherkins are smaller than regular size dills....you do the math.

Folks, I am not the food police, I do not make random visits to your home with my food scale and measuring tape in hand but merely letcha know what the program includes and if it is not part of the program, it is not in your best interest to slip it between your lips.

If you are new to the Forum and to Medifasting, I'd suggest that you read my February 2004 Newsletter http://www.makemethinner.com/newsletter/medifast-february-newsletter.htm to get my perspective on messing with the Take Shape For Life Progam.

When followed properly, you will lose weight safely and quicker than with any other 'traditional' weight loss approach. :pour:

I found a great snack

Postby Jules » August 29th, 2005, 8:36 pm

I found a great snack... :D ...and, it came off the "free foods" listings taken from the Medifast Lifestyles book....Just got to craving chocolate and something hot....1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons powdered, nondairy creamer, splenda to taste....mix this in a mug of microwaved hot water....voila! Freebie Hot Chocolate... :D ....this recipe open for critique....so far, I cannot find anything illegal "medifast-wise".....it comes on strong....you can add more water or splenda to help with this....

Even though it is in the Lifestyles Book, I'd suggest that most of you steer clear - cocoa has carbs and this is not as well-balanced as the regular Medifast Hot Cocoa meal replacement packet. If it's cocoa you want, stick with the Medifast Hot Cocoa or gently heat a Dutch Choc shake.

Some people can handle this concoction and lose weight but often it is just one more way people try to tweak things up and it results with adding a little more of this and having a whole lot more of that and all too soon, we end up with more extra carbs in an unblanced ratio to protein and fat and it slows our progress. Be vewy vewy caweful...
