Falling asleep....

Postby GucciGoo » July 25th, 2006, 12:34 pm

Sometimes I fall asleep before I get my 4th shake in. I will plan to have it at 9:30 or 10 PM and pass out.

If I do 4+1 instead of 5+1 on some days is that a problem?

Over time it can be a problem. You are reducing your calorie intake, your protein intake, and carb intake... not to mention the other nutrients. Eventually your body may start going into starvation mode and holding the pounds, or it may also start to use muscle for food.
Just be aware if you do that often. The program is designed for 5 + 1 for a purpose.
Pre WLS 460
Low after WLS 300
Start of MF 350
Previous MF low 280
Restart MF 330

BeachBaby,
I find myself doing the same thing but I am with Mike.
Even if I have to set my alarm, I need that evening shake!
I don't want to starve my body and not use the program to it's finest!
So, set the alarm, and shake it up Baby!
Good luck!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » July 25th, 2006, 6:45 pm

I'm with Mike here. On those rare days I'm not up long enough to eat every 3 hours...I change my "feeding times" to every 2 1/2 hours to get my meals in. I'm just lethargic the next day if I don't and I want to get all my nutrition in.

I go into "starvation mode" pretty quickly, so I need to reassure my body that it is being fed as often as I'm used to.

Good luck!

You do want to make sure to get all 5+1 meals in, if you know you are falling asleep at a certain time each day, then have the last one closer together.

It's not bad every so often however, you want to make sure you get all your meals in! You need those calories

This is interesting cause most of the time I don't have time for my last meal either so I usually just skip it. I will have to fix that. Thanks for asking the question BB

I also don't always get in my last meal. If I do that too frequently I can feel my body protest with hunger pains and lethargy. Then I make an extra effort for the next few days. However, like I always say life dosen't stop for MF. Do the best you can. I try to eat right away when I get up. That usually facilitates me getting in all of my meals. But not always.
