I have never been very good at journaling anything, but I thought I would give this a try. Anything to help stay focused has got to be worth the effort.

I am currently on my 7th day of MF. So far I have had no trouble staying compliant, I have, however, had severe headaches. :wallwall: Today does seem to be better. I hope they go away soon.

I first started MF in March or April of 2005. I stayed very compliant for 2 months and lost 28#. I was feeling great. I was really excited about the weight I had lost, but I found myself slowly pulling away from this forum and cheating quite frequently. It seemed like I spent the entire summer trying desparately to stay compliant, but never had a day that I managed to succeed. I did keep the weight off for the entire summer, but by Christmas time I had began to put the weight back on and had began going back to some terrible foody habits that I struggle with.

I eventually, of course, gained all of the weight back plus about 3#. I have told myself I was going to give MF another try about 50 times since then. Each time I made it about 2 days. I didn't want to come back to this forum because I was ashamed of the failure and I didn't want to be a stumbling block to people who are trying MF for the first time. I don't want the newbies to think it cannot be done. MF works, I'm the one that doesn't work. I decided to stop hiding behind the couch :couch: and get back to the forum as I believe it is a very important part of successful weight loss with MF.

Right before Christmas I began telling myself that I wanted to start MF again. So I got prepared and planned to start on January 3. (I had several parties to attend and didn't want to fail right off the bat.) My SNL and my BNL are also overweight so we all decided to give each other a little encouragement by playing our own little biggest loser game. It seemed to be exactly the spark I needed. I am a competitive person and I hate to lose anything. (except weight of course  )

I always remind myself that the enjoyment of the taste of the food really only lasts for a few seconds. I know the enjoyment of being thin would last a great deal longer.

Well, I think I could write a book about all the reasons I think I am overweight, but right now, I don't have the time.

I WANT TO BE THIN!!!!!! If I want it, I am going to have to work at it. :eyecrazy:

So here I go..........

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 9th, 2007, 2:17 pm

I agree with Biki, I think that family biggest loser is a GREAT idea! I'm also competitive and if a challenge is leveled against me, I have a tendency to do much better!

I'm glad you started your journal! I'll be happily reading your posts! We can all do this together!

Donica...ditto on what you wrote. After two months I was at 189 from 217 which is 28 pounds...started feeling good and slipped right back into my old habits. I did exactly what you did, start on plan for a couple of days and then go right off, must be something snapped in both of us...Good to have you back.

Welcome back :) I liked your message, it came straight from your heart! Don't worry, I'm sure this time all will be OK. I'm a newbie here and I'm already appreciating the help and support of this forum, it's a key to help us losing weight and not take it back after.

Did you start your diet?

Keep us informed and I'm with you :)

Thanks for the support everyone. I'm still having a headache today. It seems to have gotten worse since I left work. I had to make a trip to Wal-Mart which is probably why it is worse.

Kelli~we do seem to have followed the same path. I'm so glad we both decided to give it another try.

Rick~I did start my diet. I began on January 3. So far I am down about 6 or 7 pounds. Mostly water weight I am sure, but honestly, any weight off is great right now. :water:

I found out that the school that I teach at is also going to do a biggest loser challenge. There is one draw back......I have to weigh in with the nurse once a week. :dohdoh: I don't even let my husband know how much I weigh. Anyway, I decided to do it because I need all of the accountability I can get.

Here I am at the end of my first week. I am anxious about what the scale will say in the morning. Of course, I have already weighed myself once or twice or......OK, I've weighed almost every day. Anyway, I am most happy about the fact that I managed to stay compliant for an entire week.

I'm sitting here at my laptop, ready for bed, I can barely keep my eyes open because I have been trying to read so many of the posts in the journal. They are so encouraging and insightful. It's like we are all writing the same story, just different names.

Some of the members here are magnificent writers. I have always wanted to be able to write like that, but wasn't blessed with that gift.

Anyway, one week behind me. Yipee!!!!!!

Dont worry I weigh myself just about everyday too.I am gonna try every other day though. We'll see if that works.
So how'd the scale go today? And how do you feel physically?

I only had a minute to get on this morning. Hopefully with today being what we call a meeting day here at school, I will have some time to come back.

You are doing great! Congrats on your loss!!!

My work is doing a biggest loser competition too. We all (who are participating of course) had to submit our start weight, our goal weight, and our goal percentage. At our annual All-Staff convention those who are still in the contest will weigh in IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!!!

But our CEO is giving away 3 $500 prizes, so it's worth it. I want to take home all three!!

Good luck!

8.2 lbs wow good job!!! I'm a bit sceptic about the fact that the first pounds lost with the program are water... We're drinking a lot of water, almost no carbs, why these first pounds are water? If someone could explain it to me I would really appreciate it :)

Anyway, 8 lbs are 8 lbs, so congrats to you :bounce:  :whoohoo:
