Slight bump in the road but...

Postby dede4wd » July 12th, 2008, 10:15 am

I spent the last week in Canada for work and had a great time! Because of a mixup with my company, my Ready ToDrinks and bars were put on the wrong truck that DIDN'T go to Canada, so I had to fend for myself all week without most of my Medigrub. So, I didn't have a loss this week, but I didn't gain BIG either.

I'm home now and am so glad to have all my Medimeals at my disposal! What I know is that I learned a lot of lessons since I started...eat smaller meals more times per day, make smart choices, drink a lot of water, sometimes when I feel hungry I just need water! I'm not happy that I didn't have a loss all week, but I am proud I'm not fighting a huge gain and that I made pretty good choices!

The other thing I've noticed since I re-started...I've started caring more about how I look. I think I was in a rut when I was gaining. Since I've restarted Medifast, I've recently gotten a haircut, dyed my hair (I was getting really gray and didn't care), and bought some skincare and new makeup products. For me, it's amazing how since I've started to feel better about myself and my body, I also want to look and smell better!

So, back on track and am now ready to commit to exercising, I am past week 3 back on and am ready to go. I do walk quite a bit because of my job but intend to get on my fluidity bar workout at least 2-3 times a week too! Wish me luck, I'll report back later! Help me stick to it!

Hi,
Thanks ladies! This just in...I did my first Fluidity Bar torture (I mean beginners) workout already today! If I can just do it for the next 3 days that I'm home...I'll be in business!

One thing that bums me out...I went shopping recently for some shorts...now LAST time I was at this weight, I was in a certain size...now after my re-gain, I'm at the same weight again and I'm in a bigger size! Boo hoo! That's just mean! I know when I regained, I regained in different proportions in different parts of my body, but I know for a FACT what size I was in last time I weighed this. More motivation to stay on program, right? I don't want to be this size!

Yep, it sucks, doesn't it, Dede?? I had to buy a pair of size 18 shorts. . .this just after I was ALMOST into size 14 the beginning of May.

Not to worry, MediBud! We won't need them for long!!

Sizes really don't mean a thing these days. One brand's size 20 is another's size 16. Stick to measurements to get a more accurate assessment of your body size. Make sure whatever you buy is inexpensive though cuz you won't be needing them for long! Right!!!?? Before long they will be falling off your tush and you will be buying a smaller size! I have spent a fair amount of money at my local Goodwill these days. I kinda feel like it has a revolving door... I bring in the big stuff and almost "trade" for something smaller.

Congrats on the exercising!! How is the fluidity bar? I wanted to get it.
Please fill me in!

You're doing great Dede... those shorts will be falling off in no time, so it doesn't matter what size they are right now!

Let's shake it up! :toast:

Thanks for the words of support everyone! I still can't believe I'm in size 16 shorts (I know for a FACT I was in 14's this weight last time), but I'm over it and heading for the low sizes in my closet anyway.

Kanani,
Fluidity kicks my heiney! I spend the whole workout cussing at either the bar or the DVD or the hostess, but that's good because it works every inch of me and I'm destroyed after, so I know it's good. I just like the fact that my muscles feel worked AND stretched and I don't bulk up like I do with free weights.

All I can say is I LOVE it, but I would DEFINITELY not get it from the informercial/website...I've seen them for $100 on ebay and about 1/2 price on Amazon...

The only thing I'm worried about is getting bored with the DVD's, there's only 3 and I've heard nothing about making new ones!

Hey Dede,

That's the whole reason fluidity appealed to me because it tones the body without bulking. The infomercial shows alot of ballet technique which is right up my alley. (Danced ballet in my youth, seems like another lifetime ago  ) Thanks for the info. I'll try ebay first and see if I can get one at a good price. Keep up the great work, girl! Keep me posted on your workouts and results!

Hi Everyone

Postby dede4wd » July 18th, 2008, 2:19 pm

Well,
Today I'm letting the scale dictate my mood and I KNOW I need to snap out of it...here's my situation...

Most of you know I travel...a lot! Well, this week was only a 3-day trip to Minnesota. I had a 3 hour flight followed by a two-hour drive to the venue. Same thing yesterday. I was on program the whole time although on the way out, the chicken salad I bought for my L & G did have some shredded cheese (not much) on it, but I didn't have dressing.

Anyhow, I get home and I'm 2lbs heavier than when I left! I KNOW I retain water when I fly or drive, but to see it go UP after only a few days...I'm so bummed.

I KNOW I need to stay off the scale when I first get home, but I'm always interested. Now I'm pouting. What's weird is my thighs LOOK thinner, as if the weight loss is going there next (I lose in my face and neck and then feet up)...but I'm still very grouchy!
