Cool Whip???

Postby ChattieCathy57 » April 7th, 2006, 5:10 pm

Quick question for you all....
I know we can have SF jello ... BUT!, can we also have Fat Free cool whip?? Someone asked me the other day, since I dont know ~ I went without it :D

Also, does anyone know of any multi-grain crackers I could buy in my local store that are allowed on program (I dont have any MF ones).

Thanks

Cool Whip

Postby Jan » April 7th, 2006, 5:46 pm

Hi There,
You did exactly right. :D If you don't know -- don't eat it!!!! A small dap of fat free cool whip is ok once in awhile. But remember everything you add to program adds calories. Soon, you have added quite a few extras without really thinking about it. A Tbs here and a Tbs there all adds up. Your body is keeping track. Now as to the crackers -- wait and order some MF ones. They are very inexpensive and quite good. They are also fortified. No empty calories for us. :D

Hi, Cathy. Under Lean Cuisine, Nancy has posted the following (her fun formatting didn't copy, though):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there ~

I thought I'd post some info for your dining pleasure...

DogMa recently mentioned upon her return from vacation about having some Sugar-Free Cool Whip.

There are many of us that like to have some on our puddin' or oatmeal or...

maybe it would make an intriguing addition to the HomeStyle Chili and spiff that up a bit...

I wanted to report my findings because there are so many varieties now.

Just a gentle reminder...calories, carbs and fats DO count.

On the 5 & 1 Program we are in a [very b]mild[/b] dietary state of ketosis. It usually will not register on keto strips and when we follow the TSFL Program book and use the guidelines of Medifast as they are designed, there is no need to use keto sticks, we WILL be in the fat-burning zone but it is very easy to cross the line and exit the wonderful fat-burning zone and re-enter the land of hunger and cravings.

If you choose to use Cool Whip then I should think it would just about take the place of your 'snack' for the day.

I put these same stats in my March 2006 Monthly Specials post but thought they would fit in the Lean Cuisine web room, too.

If you have a Cool Whip Fest be vewy vewy careful..

Just a little dab'l do ya!

Those dabs can easily turn into gobs.

Gobs turn into gobblin's...

Gobblin' the whole container at one sitting is definitely not a good thing...

Hope that helps

You know what ... I think I'd rather have TWO SF jello cups than a plop of cool whip anyway :D

I strictly follow the 5-1 plan, drink all my water each day and have no more than 1 snack a day although when I am REALLY craving something salty and crunchy - I have an extra celery stick w/salt. I also love to dip my celery stick in my chicken noodle soup! :eat:

(LOL - NEVER in my WILDEST dreams did I ever think I'd see myself talking about loving to dip celery in soup ...
and TRUELY think, Yum! :pigsfly:

I am going to order the crackers and I am also going to try the chicken salad ~ and comments on the chicken salad, friends? (I use that as my lean part of the L&G - right?)

Thanks for answering my cool whip question ... its nice to know we have a place to go for advice & help :puter:

The vegetable crackers rock! Somehow, to me, they taste kinda like pizza. So when I eat them, I close my eyes and pretend I am eating pizza!

I've dipped 'em in salsa. They're good, but salsa was recently removed from the approved-items list, so eat it at your own risk.
