Can't get past the 19.5 lbs!! stuck & been on program 7w

Postby Raetish3 » February 22nd, 2006, 8:25 pm

GRRRRRR... :x I have been on program 7wks and stuck.....
The scale refuses to budge!! One minute I'm at a 19.5 weight loss and the next its goes up..and then it goes back down and visa versa for at least a week and I'm getting frustrated!!! One morning it'll say I've gained 3 lbs and the very next morning I'm back at the same 19.5 lb weight loss!!! Do I need to eat bread or something to rev up my ketosis?/ I've heard that if you "cheat" and eat bread, rice, or pasta one day and go back on diet directly you'll kick back in your ketosis... I need encouragement here... I really wanted to have 50lbs shed by 3rd week of June is that possible???
any advive is needed! rae :)
Officially started Jan 9th !!

Rae! Don't give up, don't cheat. Remember the first 3 days? :brickwall: Man, don't repeat it! You've done really well! You've lost 19.5 pounds! That's awesome, what an incredible accomplishment! Pat yourself on the back! :bravo:

Rae,

Please don't undo what you have already done! 19.5 pounds is fantastic! Be patient, stick with the program exactly and be assured, it will start back down again in due time.

If you are weighing each day, you will need to understand that this is a process that happens. Your body is very wise and knows where it needs to be at this point in time. So you can't rush it!

I know this is true because it has happened to me just like that, and I suppose most everybody else too.

You are doing fine!
As to how much you can lose in any given time... again, stick with it...you'll see good results and feel wonderful about your accomplishments sooner than you think!

Rae, how long have you been stuck? If it's only been a few days, or even a week or so, I wouldn't sweat it. If it's longer, it may be time to tinker a bit (not cheating, but stuff like increasing water or adding an extra supplement, or starting on some exercise - or stopping exercise, if you're like me).

Although I admit, I'm one of the ones who has broken a stall several times by having a small "cheat meal." But then again, I've never had any of the misery of going into ketosis that others have, and I don't let one cheat turn into a binge.

Hi Rae,

You and I both started on the same day. I had the same experience you are having now during weeks 3 and 4. The scale just flat out froze up on me. If it moved, it was a gain. I was panic sticken and stressing over it so much that I had to put my scale in the closet (I think stress can affect your weight, or at least it does in my case). Anyway, after two weeks I couldn't stand it any longer, got the scale out and BINGO....4 lbs. gone!

Although I weigh myself every morning, I do not monitor my progress by this. At the end of each month on the program, I average my weight loss. So far, I have averaged a 2.5 lb. weekly loss, which has been pretty consistent when all is said and done. By going this route, I have eliminated the stressing over daily ups and downs....like this morning, I gained .5 lbs., but I am not worried about it because I know it is part of the process.

You will get through this stall and continue losing. Try not to give the scale so much power....its just a piece of metal.

And congratulations of your 19.3 lb. loss.....that marvelous!

Patti

My longest was 14 days, ugh. Right now I'm at 10 days, but I know I'm on program and scales will soon show it. Though I feel much better when the scale is moving down, I don't sweat it anymore.

Hi Rae and everyone else that posted on this subject!!!
Thanks for bringing this subject up. :D

I've been stuck too and it DOES drive you nuts. I've bounced between a 19 and 21 pound loss for 5 days!! :x I was thrilled to hit the 20 pounds last roll call and then up and down, :bouncieball: up and down this week!

I'm being 100% compliant and it sure helps to read others are going through the same thing. I was worried about the fact I added some exercise and quit for a few days, but I'm back to it. I rather tone up my hiney and hopefully the numbers will fall eventually.

*sigh* Thanks, I just needed to vent.
