Broccoli-Cheese Soup, sort of

Postby DogMa » January 6th, 2006, 11:23 am

I can't believe it took me so long to think of this! I added some Molly McButter cheese flavor to my cream of broccoli soup, plus my usual dash of Worcestershire sauce, and voila!

Next I'm going to start adding a little lemon juice to my cream of chicken or chicken-rice soup, for a not-quite avgolemono soup.

Also, BTW, if anyone's having trouble getting their cocoa to mix without clumps, I HIGHLY recommend those Blender Bottles someone suggested way back when, with the little metal insert. I put in my cocoa mix, the hot water and usually a little DaVinci's toasted marshmallow, and shake away. Never any clumps, and you even wind up with a layer of foam on the top. Top with a spoon of Cool Whip if you want to be really decadent (especially that new French vanilla flavor) - and it's all 100 percent legal.

Thanks, Tim. BTW, if you happen to see this, can you please bump me up to the 40-pound club? It's about time I made it there!!!

Hey, Jan!! Yep, back on track after a short detour (out-of-town visitors and shingles). And completely obsessed by my hot cocoa concoction. Last night at work, someone saw it and immediately wanted to know where I'd gotten it. Mmmmmm.

Robin....If you're into Indian food try adding curry and tumerac to the chicken w/wild rice soup.

Nice suggestion, Marcia, I'll give it a try. I've already started adding curry to the broccoli soup on occasion. It's amazing how many variations people find for this stuff, isn't it? People ask if it's boring to eat the same stuff over and over, but I tell them it's NOT the same stuff. I'm always changing things around.
