You're doing great, AQ! Just keep on shakin'!!! Weigh every day if you want (I weigh morning and night but I'm sadistic like that :) ) BUT only allow yourself to get mad on roll call day! That should help you out!! I've lost over 60#'s and TRUST ME the scale isn't always my friend :) Daily weighing will, IMHO, help you in the long run though if you figure out how to accept 'it is what it is' :) Good luck!

Just a word to the wise here...my scale weighs in .1 intervals. With this in mind, i have definitely had to adjust my love/hate relationship with it. I really had to make sure that i put into perspective EXACTLY how many OUNCES 1/10 of a pound was. At one point, i would begin to stress if the scale said XXX.2 one day then XXX.3 the next. In short, just make sure you don't swallow A DROP of your tooth-brushing water before weighing! :roflmao:

Yea, and if you are going to be that obsessive about it, make sure you don't have any mousse, hair spray or gel in your hair... Oh and I am sure make-up would probably mess you up too.

Anyway, I am glad you are getting that 5th meal in. You should be feeling better and more energized with it added as well. I am so glad you thought to list your "menu" out in your journal so we were able to catch that little - actually HUGE - issue right away.

Those fat cells will be shrinking daily now -- -make sure you get all your water intake in so you will be washing away all those toxins.

With the amount of make-up I wash off this face at night sometimes, geez I'd have a 2lb gain every morning :devious: But I only wear the goop on my face when I go to work or wanna look less like a mom lol. Anyway.. I dont want anybody to think I'm obsessing over the scale, been in the weighing game for years, but I'm always extatic to see it go down. I will be in there for the first official roll call tomorrow.

P.S. How much do hair scrunchies weigh :roflmao:

Since we're on the subject I have to tell ya, OC, that I've often wished my scale did .1 (it does .2). BUT you have a great point, now I am glad it doesn't!!

However, I do have to tell you that my undies don't change my weight - LOL - I've tried, LOL. Now I don't bother taking them off unless I REALLY hate the scale and want to see if they have gained weight :roflmao: :roflmao:

Ok, I was sittin on a hump where the scale wasnt gonna move for me, and yesturday I was up a lb. but today I am down that plus .5lb so I am back to being happy. I just double checked my water intake and made sure I got that 5th meal in; which is reallllllly hard for me for some reason. Now just 1 more lb till I meet my first mini goal and for a total loss of 7lb sooooo close and it just dosent want to leave me  . Cant wait till next week when I can start incorporating exercise. I have a brand new rowing machine I got for Christmas (love rowing total body work out while sitting down :yay: ) I used it but not REALLY used it so now I will!

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Are you acurately measuring your lean and green. Weighing the lean and really measuring the green? It is important that you don't just eyeball it when you are first getting started (well ever really).

Don't worry - once you get into the Zone you will literally melt away!

Hey AQ, just wanted to stop over and say HEY! It looks like you are off to a great start. Rodeo is a great motivator huh. She's kicked me right along quite a few times. You did good to hook on to her.

Ok I'm on day 10 and have been 100% compliant, not a cheat in sight. The first couple days I lost at an astonishing rate and although I am satisfied with what I have lost thus far, I really did think it would at least carry over into the second week at that rate but it hasnt :x I am loosing about .5lb every 3-5 days so I am loosing its just painfully slow :dunno: . My total loss so far is a hair over 6lbs. The doctors tell me I have alot of muscle mass my response is yeah its just covered in 50lbs of fat all in the baby zone area, so my bmi says I'm obese but no one thinks I look obese just heavy, which makes it harder for me. Not everytime, but sometimes when I go to the doctors they will suggest losing at least 20lbs. And here I am trying my hardest and ugh :tears: I am drinking more than half my weight in water (so much so that half my night is spent in the bathroom with bladder issues) I am measuring (and not cheating on it) all my green veggies and lean meats. And even though I now squeeze in 5 and 1 my calorie intake still has never topped 790 a day, is this normal? should I add another lean or something? My day looks like this:

8am Eggs or Oatmeal or Shake
11am shake or bar
2pm shake or bar or soup, ect.
5pm lean and green
6:30pm shake
8pm cappuccino, latte, cocoa, ect.

I go to bed around 9-10pm so I can get up at 6am. But I dont sleep well, never have. So I get 5-6hrs sleep if I'm lucky. I have tried the melatonin I seen here on the board, not workin! Sleep aids I have had prescribed and nothing has worked, many years of this, so I am always tired. But on the plus side I usually take 2-3 alca seltzers a day plus my meds before starting MF and now I take just the meds, so there are other benefits.

And I know someone is going to say take measurements your probably loosing there, but that too it not going as good either.

Help! What am I doing wrong? or is this normal?

AQ wrote:I hate water too, but have you tried flavoring it? crystal light or anything? makes mine go down muuucccchhhh easier!

Ok, i took this quote of yours outta Tawanda's journal. Figured i would put it here because it seemed relevant. My first question would be (related to your above post about slowed weightloss)...You say that you are getting in all of your water but are you getting in just plain water or are you flavoring all of it? How much of your water intake is just PLAIN water? While on Mf, although crystal lite and other similar products are allowed, they DO NOT count towards your water intake. Just keep this in mind. Now for the rest of it...It's really hard o say what is "normal" for everyone. I'm not sure there is a "normal". In my experience, i had 2 big losses the first 2 weeks then the following 2 weeks were extremely slow (less than 1lb each). May people don't hit a plateau until week 4 or so but i hit mine in the beginning of wk 3. Many people here depend of measurements and although i measure myself (once a month), my inches don't seem to drop that fast. For many, the pound to inch loss seems to be about 1:1, for me (and i am almost 5'10", my pound to inch loss is about 1: .5, which at times can seem discouraging. I guess what i'm really trying to say is many people use the scale to guage succes, some use the measuring tape, some use NSV's. I personally just plug along knowing that if i remain compliant, one of the three has gotta give at some point. The program physically HAS to work. You have sent your body thru a great shock and everyone's body adjusts differently. Just give it time. The scale will eventually be your friend again.

Your caloric intake is about the same as mine. Depending on what my l&g is, i can range anywhere from about 650 to 900. It doesn't seem like you need to adjust the calorie side of it. Sleep plays a large part in our metabolism. This could be causing a slight problem but then with a VLCD, it doesn't seem to have as much effect because VLCD's force our bodies to get rid of the extra stuff. I hope i was able to help a little, i know this may seem like rambling. Just hang in there.

Some people also just lose painfully slowly (I did, no matter what I did). But slowly's better than not at all, and whether it takes you two months or two years, the important thing is that you get there - and stay there. Twenty years from now, when you're still maintaining, are you really going to care that it took you a little longer to reach your goal?

Hang in there.
