 I've just started using the Medifast program and I was wondering if I need three shakes a day? I've been using one and mixing it up with hot beverages, soups and a bar, then my lean meal. Please let me know what your experiences have been!

I think it is fine to do that. The only real rule is only one bar per day, as they are higher in carbs and calories. The soups, shakes and hot drinks are designed to be used interchangably is what I understand.

You can mix and match the foods as long as you only do one bar a day.

Three shakes

Postby alohacate » June 30th, 2006, 6:54 pm

Did any of you stick to the "three shake rule"?
I am 5'10 and weigh in at 250lbs, I've gained about 100lbs in less than two years. I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor suggested that I use the Medifast program (along with exercise and medication).

I have only done the 3 shakes a couple of days since starting. Depends on how busy I am.

The three shakes a day is an old requirement, you can now have any 5 meals, but keep it to one bar a day.

Personally, I do 3 shakes a day. I like the soy protein and the ease. I use the RTD's.

I frequently do 3 shakes a day but that's just because I like them so much.

I do at least 3 shakes a day because I like them, they are convenient, and they are refreshing in this AZ heat.

In the beginning, I did five shakes per day to kind of get my head in the right place. Now, I rarely have them unless I'm on the go and need an RTD (ready-to-drink).

I do 4 shakes a day and an oatmeal but that is because I like the shakes and my warped brain thinks I am having a milkshake I think LOL

I only do 1 to 2 shakes a day depending on if it is a weekend or not!! :) I think you are fine doing 3 shakes a day, but I think that for me I like to have more of a variety in my day for meals, and not just drinking a shake!
