Am I allowed to use water pills

Postby Guest » August 3rd, 2007, 2:16 pm

I just wanted to know if I am allowed to use water pills on his diet to help flush me out. They were given to me by my doctor but I don't know if it will do more harm than good. I don't want to retain water and no matter what I do or how much water I drink I still retain water all the time. I drink about 80 0z of water a day so. What is the verdict?

I would consult with the doctor and make sure he knows you are on Medifast and how much water you are consuming a day. If he prescribed them, he would be the one to answer your questions not people on this board no matter how much they want to help. Good luck.

Ask you doctor, but:

Even after losing all of this weight, my ankles still swell just before my period begins, so I take a diuretic for that. If you do take one, you should make sure you drink extra water......I know, sounds counter productive, but it keeps the kidneys working and actually helps with the water weight.
