a 1000 thankyou's to my friends

Postby sheri1103 » February 3rd, 2007, 10:16 am

How did I ever get along without you all? I can't begin to say how much all your notes and thoughts mean to me. My divorce will be final next Friday, so I am told. And I have also been fortunate to find a new Church as well. They offer access to affordable counseling which I think will help.
The more positives I get in my life, the better. Am thinking of picking Valentines day as the day for me to restart M/F. What better way for me to show love to my body. My poor tummy has been through enough in the last 6 weeks. So my friends does this sound like a good plan?
Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Hey there, Sheri ~

Valentine's Day is a great day to begin. Valentine's Day is the day I reached my goal weight four years ago.

There are times in our lives when it seems we are walking down a long black tunnel and we strain hard to see the little glimmer of light at the end. I remember once so long ago when I was going through a horrible time - in my marriage, my job, and my weight was about 217. I was in NY for some training – we owned a magazine business and I was traveling by taxi in the Holland Tunnel – there was an accident up ahead, the ceiling was leaking, the driver smelled foul, the exhaust fumes were filling the car, the meter kept ka-ching-ing and I thought I would never get outta there. I seriously thought the tunnel would fill with water and I’d be buried in the darkness.

Even though it felt like I was goi9ng down for the third time, I remembered a promise written by the prophet Isaiah that said when I feel like I am going under I will not drown, when I feel like I am walking through the fires, I will not be burned; I was encouraged and knew I was not alone.

Tunnels are not always straight, therefore we cannot always see the end, we must hold on until we go around the bend, there is brightness at the far end. It is waiting for you – don’t give up. You’re just in a traffic jam right now with a stinky driver and smelly exhaust fumes. There’s fresh air comin’…

Hi All - I began on Valentines Day as I promised and actually made it through the "3 days" without any ailments. Then "life" hit. I discovered I had 3 private investigators following me and snooping around my home. Most likely hired by my husband's creditors. The bankrupcty hearing from was last Thursday and I literally spent the entire day between his BK attorney and my divorce lawyer. Long story short - the BK court will not come after my home - they are going after his other ex-wife's home, which she stole from him in a shadey divorce. Then friday Windows (on my biz PC) bit the dust. So I spent the day getting it in for repair.
I worked all day yesterday and into the night to get caught up. For those who do not know, I have an accounting practice, and this is the worst time for a computer to go down. I have a laptop, which I am using, but the screen is smaller and it takes me longer to work, as I have a hard time seeing. But at least I am caught up - but am exhausted. My blood pressure was so high - even after starting the M/F the doctor changed the RX and it seems to be coming down. He said I could continue the plan as I am able. As once again my tummy is in an uproar. And some days the only things that stay down are the shakes and they take away the heartburn. Thanks for asking Nancy. I know eventually I will get back on track, but I have a lot of healing to do. The last 2 months have been like a bad dream - and my stress level is very high. Thanks to all of your for kind words of support.

I with ya on the work stuff, sheri. I'm an accountant and I specialize in individual tax so that I can take more time off in the summer......but tax season is a killer (14-16 hr days) and a day in tax season without my puter would mean nervous breakdown here.

BTW, I am also our network administrator, so the puter problems are my problems, too.

Another BTW, We have a paperless office. It's great. We all have dual monitors so that we can have our work on one and our "file cabinets" on the other. No more searching through filing cabinets or sending the secretary to find a lost file. I could even work from home and I'm kind of working towards that.....hubby and I want to eventually be one of those couples sitting on the beach with our laptops making our clients think we're sitting behind a desk pushing paper.
