When a size 12 is too big.........

Postby sheila » May 26th, 2006, 4:59 pm

Yes, when a size 12 is too big, you know youre doing 'SOMETHING" right.Well, I was shopping yesterday and found a very cute Liz Claiborne skirt. It was on clearance and had no price tag. So I asked the clerk how much it would cost. She told me 12.96. That was a great deal considering others similar to it were still 56.00 even on clearance. WOW! BUT...it was a size 12. And the last time I bought any clothing, it was a 14. The clerk asked me if I'd like to try it on, and I said no, because I am losing weight. I thought if it is a little tight right now, I will fit into it soon. So, I got home and tried it on, and low and behold.....It fit!!! And not only that, it was just a little big, but that is ok, it will be more comfy that way. Just wanted to share another non scale victory I had yesterday. :D

Sheila,

What a nice surprise you had! I've had a few of those. I bought a pair of size 16 slacks and before I could get them hemmed, they were too big and I bought a sweater and was only able to wear it once. I've taken to buying things a bit tight, lol.

Enjoy the skirt....well, for the next week or so, lol.

That's SO GREAT Sheila! I'm happy for you! Good sale-hunting too!

I HATE spending a ton of money on clothes that I don't know how long they'll fit for, so I'm going to get a couple of sizes on Monday. Saver's Thrift Department store is having a 50% off sale on MOnday. I am SO THERE!

Never heard of it, but I'm headed for the Kohl's Memorial Day sale tomorrow. Their clearance sales are fabulous, so I go every year (one year, my friend got a pair of cords for $2 and I got a bunch of tops for $3 each).

DeDe, Here in Hawaii we have a Savers, but I dont know if they are having a sale or not here. I know that Goodwill is having a big sale this weekend as well, 50%off. Hubby wants to go to that one, as he is also losing ALOT of weight! He is in between sizes too. His size 36's are falling off him now. It was funny, a couple weeks ago, he was at softball practice, he plays for our church's team, and he was running the bases and his pants kept trying to fall off. LOL!

Hi Sheila, the Saver's website says all of them are having the 50% off sale, so it's worth it to check out! Can' have your hubby runnin' bases dropping trou!

Plus, you'll be dropping those 12's to your ankles pretty quick!
