Enjoyed reading your journal. Love the part about the straw and not partaking of the goods <grin>.

I am thinking about doing the 6-0 instead of 5-1. I am going to give it a try and see how I feel. The past few days after my dinner meal I feel too full, and my stomach is a little upset. I am doing my portions exactly right, and have stuck to lean meats but it hasnt helped. I think after eating so little all day my stomach just cant handle the real meal. So, Iam going to do it for 1 week and see if I can handle it. I think the bars (yes, I know only one a day :D ) will give me enough to chew to keep me satisfied.

Topcow ~ I don't know if you're aware, but the 6/0 plan is only for people being monitored by a physician.

Thanks for the warning, but I do know about that.
I was thinking if I do the week and like it then I will call my doctor and go in to talk about it so she can keep tabs on me. If she says I cant do it for some reason, guess I'll have to stick to the 5-1.
I dont have any medical problems other then severe PMS and migraines..and an occasional gallbladder attck that the doc said would end if I stopped eating such high fat foods. :dooh:

Gallstones

Postby Will Lose » August 7th, 2006, 11:52 am

Hi, topcow! I've enjoyed reading your posts.

FYI, weight loss (especially rapid weight loss) can cause gallstones, so be careful (spoken as someone who had to have emergency surgery to have her gallbladder removed).

That sounds painful.
Is that one of the things the doctor will monitor while on the 6-0 plan? Or can they even predict gallstones? I assume they will take blood, check blood pressure, all that fun stuff. By the way, in case anyone is concerned...I had a complete check up just this past May, so I feel OK about trying it a week before I see the doctor.

Ok, I failed big time.
I lasted two days without the L & G......I just couldnt do it! Oh well, back to the 5-1. I did get on the scale for a little peek this morning and the news was great. :D By sunday I will be right in the middle of That Time of Month, so I know the numbers on Sunday will be all messed up. But the next week it will be great cause it will look like I lost even more!

I don't think I could do it either...
From what I've read, the pounds seem to come off just as fast on the 5-1... And, you get to eat something every day. I just couldn't stick to non-food...

But it was worth a try, huh?

Well, it is 2:28 in the morning and I cant sleep!! I ate some sugar free gummy bears last night (no, I did not pig out, just a hand full) and they upset my stomach. So, here I am drinking a bottle of cold water and killing time until the rumblies in my tummy go away so I can get back to bed.

I rewarded myself last night for sticking to the plan by getting my hair cut and buying a pair of jeans and a cute T shirt at Dillards. It is always a treat to get my hair cut because I go to a salon 35 miles from home and LOVE my hair dresser that I have used for about 5 years. She is Awsome. May you all find that perfect hair dresser who never screws up the cut, and can do anythng you ask exactly how you pictured it!
I was thinking that I will wear the outfit I bought in my first "during" photo I want to post on here once I have lost 20#.

WEll, I am going to try to get back to sleep....but I hear a kid making some noise..better go check that out first. Goodnite..... :snooze:

Well, I weighed today, even though I keep telling myself I will only weigh on Sundays.....and I have lost another pound. My period isnt even over yet, so I know by Sunday I will have a big loss to report. I still cant get over the fact that I lost weight during my period. Every diet I have ever been on the cravings would get me and I would cheat like crazy, then bloat up and end up getting discouraged and quit. But I didnt have any cravings this month, and very little swelling. This Medifast is some great stuff!
I really wanted to lose 3 lbs a week, and it looks like that might happen. next week I will be adding a few workouts a week. Probably 20 minutes three days a week on my Gazzelle. That should keep the losses coming.
I have realized I am not afraid of the scale anymore. Weighing every day is no big deal now because as long as I dont cheat my weight doesnt seem to go up & down. Could it be? After a 20 year battle could I really be making friends with my scale??! :whattha:

I did Medifast for about 3 weeks this past summer....read my journal....anyway, then things began to fall apart around here and I had to give it up due to money.
My husband lost his job and I am a stay at home mom so that was a huge deal. He excepted a job working for his father and he loves it ..in fact he has wanted to work with him for years but I didnt want to have to move. But he took the job and we will have to move, however...he is making a ton of money now, almost 3 times what he made before. I always thouhgt we did ok, but now I am so excited. The first thing I thought of when he took the job was that now I can really afford to be on Medifast!! We had to spend a month or so catching up on bills but then I ordered my food. My food should be here tomorrow! I am so happy!! I loved being on Medifast and I cant wait to get started again!!

Like I said, we will have to move, (to Stillwater, OK) but for now he is staying with his dad and coming home on weekends. He is 3 hours away. We will be near his father & step mom, his brother & his family, plus we will be 2 hours closer to my parents and one sister and my 92 year old grandmother.
We have to have some work done on our basement, then the house will be on the market. It looks like the kids and I will be moving down there in late January. Since he is making so much $$ I dont have to wait for this house to sell before moving, so that is making it much easier.

Well, that is my update. I am looking forward to being on this site and talking to you all again! I cant wait to start losing again!

I was starting to get nervous with these boards being down the past couple of days. Glad to see then up again. :D

I was doing great for a few days then family dropped in last night and we ordered pizza. I didnt pig out, but I ate plenty. So back on track today. Yesterday morning when I weighed I had lost another 2 pounds, not bad considering I havent been 100%. That puts me at 9 pounds lost! Bonus good news..I didnt have any clean jeans this morning so I had to pull out a pair that is way too tight....they went right on with NO problem! I do not understand how 9 pounds on some one my size can make such a diffrence, but I love it!

The salt from that pizza has made me swell up, so today I am just trying to push lots of water ...other than that I dont feel like last night hurt me too bad. I am not having any trouble today sticking to Medifast. I know I am going to eat off plan on Thanksgiving, so my goal is just to be 100% until then. I am having the dinner here, which sucks becasue I dont want to get stuck with all those left overs staring me in the face for several days. So, I am going to buy some of those cheap tupperware-like- containers and send food home with every one else!
Let them deal with the left overs!
