Today is my Birthday...

Postby LiLYipper » August 2nd, 2006, 11:01 am

And honestly I did not expect it to be THIS big of a struggle!!!! I am DYING to pig out!!!! It's like I don't know how to celebrate without a bunch of fattening food!!! I know that for my birthday I should give myself the gift of good health...I know I should be able to enjoy my life without carb and fat laden foods. I guess instead of a birthday party...I'm having a pity party ;)

First of all...

I will join your pity party today. We will both not have a pig out day. Let stay 100% compliant and feel better about ourselves. Friday is my daughters 8th birthday. I am taking her and her friends to a movie and DQ. It will be VERY hard not to join in on the popcorn and ice cream but I want to get healthier and so do you.

YOU CAN DO IT LILYIPPER!!!!! HAVE A SUPER DAY!

Happy birthday!!!

Mine is exactly a month from today. I DO plan to allow myself a treat - but not a pigout day, just one meal. (Keep in mind I also am expecting to be within a pound or two of goal by then, so my situation is a bit different.)

What about having something special that IS on plan? Lobster for your protein, or a fabulous steak? Or what about just coming up with other ways to treat yourself today? Get your nails done, splurge on something fabulous that wouldn't have fit you in the beginning, get a massage. Or something simpler, if you have a family, like just taking some time for yourself.

Happy Birthday LiLYipper!!!

Today is about you and not about food! I agree with Dogma...take this opportunity to pamper yourself with non food or on plan related items. Get a manicure/pedicure, splurge on your Lean & Green, go to a movie, buy yourself a present, spend time with your family not eating. That's one thing we have to learn in this process...how to celebrate without all the sugary, carb laden, fatty foods that got us where we are in the first place. You can do it!!! Because you are worth it!!!

BTW, one other reason not to go crazy: Many people have some pretty serious digestive issues when they eat a lot of sugar or fat after not having it for a while. That's not how you want to spend your birthday ...

Happy Birthday! Hope you're having a great day, and that you've done something splurgy to treat yourself. That massage sounded awfully good . . .

I know how you feel about the urge to let go. American culture is so hooked up to food and a b-day is kind of like YOUR day to go crazy and do things you wouldn't normally do. Hope you were able to make the right choices, but if you didn't then don't fret. We have all been there and are here for you.
