Time to get serious

Postby Yworry » August 27th, 2007, 9:30 pm

I have just started back on Medifast as of Sunday. I started this last year, but with my wife having a baby (I gained just as much if not more than she did  ) and moving it has been a bit stressful. I know this plan works. I had lost 60lbs before I fell off the wagon, and of course now there is even more to lose. I am not exactly sure how much I weigh right now I am just giving it a ballpark figure. God willing I should know within the next week or so. Of course today being my second day I believe I was a little short with everyone :x . I know it is the withdraw factor of all the sugar and caffine. While I haven't completely quit the caffine yet I am down since I was drinking the soda by the liter and now I am drinking the water. Well I guess thats all for now. Good to have a place to come to where others know your pain.

P.S. had to use a bike in the ticker gas is too expensive to drive that far

You do know we are allowed three cups of coffee a day. Caffeine withdrawal is hellish. The literature does not say we need to quit caffeine entirely. It just suggests three servings because more might make people jittery. I have seen some posts that suggest caffeine makes us hungrier, but if you have ever been to France you know coffee and cigarettes are appetite suppressants. I have it on good authority that one of the cutest maintainers on the board and her above-average looking acolyte drink plenty of coffee.

Welcome back - it's never easy but it must be a little bit simpler to make the committment knowing that you've found a plan that works! We're glad to have you and you'll have lost that 60 pounds again in no time. Congratulations, too, on the new baby and the new home!

Welcome back.

I also cut way back on the caffeine. It was hard at first, but now I do one or two cups a day of 50% decaf with a MF cocoa or vanilla mixed in.

Thanks for all the support. On coffee, I hate the stuff. I have had a couple of those new diet pepsi max's. The problem is not whether I should drink it or not, because right now I know that is not going to derail me, the problem is finding time in the day to get more liquid into the body. After all that water everyday I don't want to drink anything else. The other problem is getting use to the taste of diet soda's again, and I do realize that after a week on this diet they do begin to taste better but right now I would kill someone for a big liter of cold pepsi

I have seen buttons that say something like "for your own safety keep your distance I am in nicotine withdrawals"...maybe you could get one for Pepsi withdrawal!

Hi, I'm the wife of Clint. I'd agree, giving up the caffeine has been the hardest thing, so I didn't. I have to be pleasant while working with 2nd graders and Diet Pepsi Max has gotten me through. I've been a die-hard gourmet coffee drinker for at least 10 years....Mind you, RTD's and the wonderful little soy crisps sure have helped, too! When the kids in the class get their mid-morning snack, I'm having my 2nd shake and my crisps!

I had a gorgeous baby boy in December, graduated with my MBA in March, moved from Florida to Virginia in March, started a new job in March and another new job this month...nothing like being off the scale in stressors!!!

This is oh, my 100th-or-so re-start, but I'm focused on being around for my boys (hubby, 2 sons and male doggie) for a long time to come...

I find the Studio posting section to be my biggest motivator. I love seeing people succeed! I'm going to be one of them!
