Do they have to bounce?

Postby bikipatra » August 13th, 2007, 4:20 pm

My husband helped me fit the Enell bra as tight as it would fit me, taking in fabric under the arm and taking up the straps considerably per the Enell fitter's instructions. It is much better than a regular bra but I still have a bounce when I jog or jump up and down. The bounce isn't painful though and not as jiggly, just up and down. As you have seen in photographs or perhaps just knowing I am a 38F and very hard to fit, is this is good as it gets? I guess it may be because I can't imagine my breasts being any more contained than they are. I guess I just imagined a totally bounce free jog but with as much chest as I have, I guess that is an impossibility.

Before I spend 80 dollars on a bra that still lets me bounce I think I will go to a department store and do what I used to, try wearing two at a time over my regular bra and see if I can get less bounce.

Hey, Biks-

I have been wearing (faithfully) the Enell bras since I started running, and no, there should not be any bounce. Those suckers should be strapped down like you almost can't breathe - and I'm not exaggerating. You should be so sucked in that you can't really imagine being able to exercise, and the first time you do, you may actually feel like you're having to work harder to breathe - that's how tight we're talking. It should be a significant struggle to attach each hook, we're talking hanging upside down, practically breaking a sweat! :-) After the first couple wears, it will get easier, I promise!

So, no, no bounce should occur. NO movement at all. Lock and load, baby.

It is absolutely almost impossible to fasten. My husband had to help. I guess I just have too much breast tissue. I am going to call the Enell custom fit guru today and ask her for more suggestions.

When I was in college, one of the girls on our basketball team had a bruised rib that had to be taped and wrapped before she could play.. because of which rib it was, and the fact that she too had an ample chest, they had to wrap the ace bandage from her armpits to the top of her tummy... she said the best part of having a busted rib was that for once, she didn't jiggle when she ran.. after that, she wouldn't play without "taping those suckers down" as she called it..

Maybe I'll try it then if the bra I just ordered doesn't work.
