Starting August 1st

Postby polka123 » July 31st, 2007, 12:41 pm

Hi Everyone
My name is Mary Jo and I am starting tomorrow August 1st. I lost over 100 lbs about 12 years ago and up til the last several years was able to keep it off for the most part. I have had a weight problem my entire life and sometimes I get so tired of dealing with it. I am sure many of you can relate. Anyway, this needs to work for me. I am so disgusted with myself lately. I purchased the 5 week variety pack and must commit to it 100%. I know that once I get going and see the results, it gets so much easier to stay on the plan. Does anyone have a list of some basic things I should get from the store for week one? I am going to try to stick to salads and fish or chicken for my lean and green. We can have diet soda and crystal light, correct? Thanks, I am sure I will have more questions as I get further into the program.

Hi Mary Jo and welcome,

The things we bought mostly were seasonings - chilli powder, garlic powder, all kinds of Mrs. Dash Salt or half salt pepper, tobasco, salsa, a few extracts to add to shakes etc...divinci or walden farms sugar free syrups if you can find them

You said that you were going to do a lot of fish i dont know if that means tuna but if it does make sure you weigh it as you should all your meats. It takes at least 2 6oz cans of tuna to get your 7oz after you drain it

We also bought a steamer its a black and decker 7quart steamer its great for fresh veggies, fish, chicken and the sort. stock up on plenty of water and check out the lean cuisine section for tips on flavoring soups, shakes, and making some delicious Lean & Green meals

You can have diet sodas and crystal light but they recomend no more than 3 a day.
If you like green olives that is a "free" food and you can have up to 5 olives per day

Best wishes

Larry

Welcome!

I keep my L&G pretty simple with all the fab fresh veggies this time of year. Lots of nice salads. There are some really good dressings that fit the program. I haven't tried the sprays, but I hear they are good. I like Ken's Lite Northern Italian. One thing I keep on hand is pickles in case I need a little hold over between meals.
Reached Goal Nov 2007 61.5 lbs lost
Gained 11 lbs in Mexico 3/08, decided to lose that along with another 5 lbs!

Hi Polka! I'm starting with you today! Actually, this is my one year anniversary with MF. I fell off the wagon a few weeks for most of July, and so I am re-committing myself to the program.

I have had great results with MF and is the only program that has worked for me. I know it will work for you too! Have a great day and keep on shakin! :toast:

I didn't know I was going to do Medifast until one morning when I woke up and had had enough. I was changing some other areas of my life and said, what the heck. (I had a load of supplements from another attempt.) I am kind of glad I didn't know, would have just put on more pounds. But I understand, even Oprah says she binges before starting diets too.

Welcome! How is it going so far today? I bought the Rasberry Lemonade Crystal Lite and put a teaspoon (or a little more) in with my Strawberry shakes and blend them with ice. It's really good. Purchased a mini blender at Walmart for about $15.00, I use it for all my shakes.

Gotta go grandbaby is calling!
