Uhmm... taking three cold showers per day and getting nosebleeds from all the smoke, unfortunately! Just two, but yuck! It's pretty smoky again in the valley the past coupla' days, and both the outside temperature gauge on my car and the thermometer in the backyard say 109 degrees right now. Cuh-razy! It's muggy and smoky and sweltering and just gross.

...and how are you?

I've just been veggin' lately, but my volunteer stint with Community Hospice begins next week. I was really just interested in gaining some experience in this area but, as it turns out, they've extended the offer of an internship my way, so I'm taking it! Talk about getting lucky! Even though I won't need to do internship hours for a while yet, they said that they'd start counting time from day one. I'm not sure how all of that works, but we'll figure it out as we go along!

On the MF front... things are not as great. Not bad, exactly, but I'm not completely OP. The good news, however, is that I'm maintaining my weight. I'm looking at it as good practice for when I'm actually in the maintenance phase. Yeah, I know ~ I'm rationalizing... 8) Still. My activity levels are good and my eating choices are, for the most part, healthy. Lots of fresh veggies and, yep, fruit. At least it's just the fruit by itself and not as an ice cream topping, right?

I hear yo... that heat just zaps ya. Its been hazier the past couple of days. We have been doing VBS (Vacation Bible School) in Brentwood and boy... 104-106 with the smoke keeping the heat in... its just crazy.

Hang in there, and the being OP will start taking those lbs away.

I "rationalized" for quite some time as well, so I truly know where you are coming from. Between being COMPLETELY off plan for a few months and trying to get back on plan I only gained 10 pounds of my 80 lost. I felt good about that and took it as a lesson on being able keep the weight off once I am able to reach goal.

I feel bad for ya folks out there in the smoke zone. Sure wish I could send ya some of the rain we have been getting. Hang in there - its gotta get better.

I have missed ya Sojo! Your comments are always a ray of sunshine to me. Probably because they are not "sugar coated"! I just love it when people say what they mean and mean what they say.

Blessings!

Sometimes your body (or your mind) just needs a break, so if you need to just maintain for a bit, I say go for it. You'll get back OP when you're ready.

And as for the internship (congrats, btw), LUCK had nothing to do with it. More like sheer brilliance and hard work, missy.

I hope the smoke clears soon. I remember living (and breathing) near various California wildfires all too well. Yuck.

Thinkin 'of you Sojo..... How are the nosebleeds? Hope the air is clearer and cooler for you guys. It's sweltering here in Hawaii at 90 degrees, I can't imagine how it is for you.

Thanks for stoppin' by my journal the other day!

Hang in there girl! :pet:
