RTD's

Postby ladyhawke » May 23rd, 2007, 2:37 pm

What is the consensus on these? Do we like them? I know it's the convenience factor but what about the taste?

I have to order and was thinking about getting the chocolate.

Thanks

I like the chocolate RTDs better than the vanilla (but I don't care for the vanilla 55 shakes). My friend, however, prefers the vanilla 55 shakes and the vanilla RTDs. Both are very creamy. :D

Thanks!
I don't care for either one of the choc or van shakes but hey, I'm playing the game :)

Only shake I have anymore is the choc RTD. Maybe they are less sweet, I'm not sure. I know Di prefers the packets, and she usually likes sweeter things. ;)

It all depends on the taste buds I think.

Hi

Personally,

I LOVE the chocolate RTD's, I have at least 3 a day. To me they taste like chocolate milk! They're very smooth and not gritty at all.

The convenience factor can't be beat (I have them rat-holed EVERYWHERE so I don't get caught anywhere without a meal).

Personally, I think the vanilla RTD's are okay and I like the banana, but chocolate is my staple!

I love the chocolate but if I don't find it very filling. You definitely need a water chaser with it.

I ordered a case of choc in my order last night from Bonnie, she loves them, too.

Thanks everyone for the pointers.

BTW, ladyhawke, I can't stand the regular shakes, either. Have you tried making a shake from the cocoa, though? I mix up a packet with water and ice in a blender or Magic Bullet (usually with a squirt of DaVinci, or now that I'm on maintenance, I'll add a spoonful of that powdered peanut butter). Much, much better than the chocolate shakes, if you ask me. Maybe it's the whey protein, or the slightly different chocolate taste.

DogMa, powdered peanut butter!
I must have missed the posts about that but can we have it?
I started out with the choc shakes and the choc taste was not that appealing to me, once I had the cappy in the Magic Bullet with ice and the Chai the same way with nutmeg on top of the Chai those along with the chix noodle soup became my staples.

I'm back and edited this post to add I did the search thingy and found the PB2 post, quite interesting.

It's good stuff, when it's mixed in like that. And a teaspoonful is more than enough to flavor a shake or iced cocoa.

I know I'm a bit late on this post, but I thought I'd throw my 2-cents' worth in anyway. :)

I ADORE the RTDs. :cheerleader: They have been instrumental in getting me back on program this time. As easy as it is to shake-shake every meal, it is still easier to grab a cold one out of the 'fridge, stick the extender straw in, and "Ahh!" instant meal! :beerbeer:

Now, as far as Chocolate/Vanilla goes, I like them both, however, I usually have chocolate on hand since my DH is also doing the program with me and he prefers chocolate. I've got TONS of product waiting to be used, so when the RTDs are gone, I will be using up all my packets before I order a whole month's supply of RTDs. However, I may make my own RTDs with the packets by using the cute little 8 oz water bottles and shaking up the day's supply so that I don't have to worry about it at work. Once my packets are gone, I'll keep RTDs in stock.

I think the RTDs have a better consistency, have just the right amount of sweet--hmm, think I'll go have one right now!

OMG that is the best idea!!!! I'm too narrow-minded to think of it myself, I guess. I don't have to conserve my RTDs because I have all this hot cocoa, and I've already had it before shaken up like a shake and I actually like it better than the shakes for that - I can make them up beforehand! Genius! Signlady I think you may have just given me the boost I needed!! Thanks!!!!
