Reviewing some old threads

Postby shineface » February 10th, 2004, 8:12 am

Hi all ---

In reviewing some of the older posts and threads on this forum I came across a reference to one that in my opinion I think everyone should read --- first of all it was back in the olden days when Ellen and our man Mike were just starting out - and we all know how that story is turning out - also Nancy & Unca Tim posted a lot of valuable information in some lengthly posts back and forth with Mike. As a shaker in her 3rd week I found the questions and info very interesting.

Here's the link:

Too funny. I have not read that post for about 3 years, or was it only posted about 3 months ago? Wow... That seems like a decade ago. I can remember posting it, and going back and forth with Nancy and Tim...

Actually that post did bring some valuable information...

And who would have ever thought I would speak my mind... hmmm...!

So Mike,

Do you have 4 or 5 shakes a day now?

Uh..... I believe I am asking for trouble by answering this honestly...

As I said early on (in the beginning days), I took 5 shakes. I could not stomach the 5th shake as I continued/progressed. Find it odd, or not, I was comfortable with just 4. I remained on the 4-shake-regimine the entire time. This I did not deviate from.

Once I feel ready, I will regale my increasing maintenance plan.

Wrong/right? Who knows.

Pam,

Thanks for posting the site. There was a lot of good conversation (?) going back and forth. Lot of good stuff.

Thanks for taking the time to tell us about it. Mike was spunky back then (a whole 3 months ago) too.

Mike it still amazes me that you got where you are today in a matter of three months. Jeez this stuff works! There's nothing out there that works this way.

Mikey!!!....you did it again.... :whip:
I'm heading down your way and moving in next door to force that 5th shake down you...:)

Bringing grampa Guido along too, to give you a good noogie.

You know just a couple months ago Medifast changed it's recommendation from 5 to 6 shakes for the full fast? You REALLY should be taking that 5th shake. I doubt if i could ever talk you into taking the 6th, but i'd recommend you work close with the Doc, especially if you're nearing your goal and don't have much of that extra poundage left to feed off of.

All the best,
Unca

No you can't force that 5th, or 6th shake on me, however you can enlighten me and the board on why Medifast only after 20-how many years all of a sudden decided the shaking-population needs 6 shakes now, versus 5.

My guess is it's an FDA thing, although i've haven't heard of any reported problems from 5 shakes. I'll send a few emails off today and see if we can get an official reply. Maybe someone, in the know, will add to this thread.
