A question for you

Postby Maggie » January 11th, 2004, 11:36 am

Unca Tim.....this is not exactly a technical question but can you tell me, concerning the time zones, what does GMT stand for. I know there is ET, eastern time zone, CT, central time zone, MT, mountain time zone, and PT, pacific time zone. I have noticed that when I enter a post, the time is always 2 hours behind mine, so I suppose that is Pacific time, but what do the initials GMT stand for. Inquiring minds want to know. :scratchhead: Maggie

Hi Mags,
GMT is Greenwitch Mean Time. It's kind of the starting point for the world to use for time zones.

You can go to your profile and down near the bottom you'll see "Time Zones". I set mine at 8 hours out here in the west and that makes my time on the forum read right. I can never remember which way to go, but if you set yours at either 6 or 10 (two hours diff than mine) it should make your time read correct.
