A few here had sent me msgs asking about my cakes.. I appreciated the interest.

I don't want to go on about what they're made from, I don't want to tempt anyone to cheat ;)
I'll just say that they are 100% edible, cakes inside and covered in sugar paste, marzipan, buttercream or modeling chocolate.

My mother is a talented cook and baker and the Elmo cake reminded me of a Cookie Monster Cake she made me once. For his fur she had dyed blue coconut. Then he was placed on a white frosted sheet cake and that's where my mom did all the writing. It was a huge hit. My grandmother was the photographer in the family so she made me pose with that thing for what seemed like 30 minutes and we all wanted to eat cake. She died when I was nine. I guess that's why there aren't many familty pictures after that. Just random polaroids snapped here and there.

You are probably going to intimidate the hell out of your instructor if you take your portfolio!
