New to MF

Postby Kornpop » September 15th, 2004, 10:45 am

Hi,
My 17-yr old daughter and I started MF yesterday. We are both excited to be involved in this endeavor. Kelsey and I both have about 60 pounds to lose and are hoping by Christmas that we will look and feel better. Judging by the weight losses I've read about in this forum, we should be pretty well on our way.

Since I teach and keep a refrigerator in my room, it's easy to make my shakes. Kelsey is a sr. in HS and runs into the bathroom to make her shakes. (It's ok for the boys to drink protein drinks during lunch--not for the girls, though--).

Anyway, enough about me. I'm just really glad to be a part of this group. I've enjoyed reading comments from many of you. They are so uplifting and that really helps keep me positive. Thanks!
Sandy

Welcome Sandy and Kelsey!!!

This IS a great place for unconditional support! I know this is one of my most important tools. Accountability for me is everything.

Welcome Sandy :)!

Wishing you and Kelsey the best! You two are really giving each other great Christmas presents!

As for your daughter's shakes, has she tried the Ready-to-Drink shakes? They are a little more expensive than the packets, (and there is debate about which version tastes better), but she could chill/freeze those and put them in her locker at school, where they would thaw nicely. And the Ready-to-Drink shakes look like juice boxes--she could drink these in the cafeteria. Anyways, just a thought :). Just want things to be as convenient for her as possible.

Again, I'm glad you're here and look forward to hearing of you and Kelsey's success on MF!

Hi, Sandy ~

I am  so glad that you are a part of the Forum now. I enjoyed talking to you on the phone.

The Forum will help you and Kelsey so much.

I agree with Simmshe's RTD idea as Kelsey can :toast: slurp on one of those and no one will be the wiser for it HOWEVER, I'd suggest the Fit! formula as the box is more obscure looking than the regular MF RTD - it definitely looks 'medical' with its logo and unadorned box.

You two can do some reading of my past Newsletters and do :puter: searches via the Forum to find the answers to some of the questions that you two will undoubtedly have.

Skinniness happens here... ;)

Thank you so much for your replies. This is the first time I've participated in any forum or chatting on line. Was a little nervous, but I think it may become addicting. I'm on here reading all the time--can't seem to get anything else done!

Thank you Nancy and Sheryl on your Ready to Drink thoughts. We'll try them.

Welcome Sandy,

This forum is really great - so nice to be able to compare notes with others while dieting - helps me stay positive too! Guess it's sort of Cyber Group Therapy. Come here when it gets tough - we're all behind you and your daughter - we've been there - done that first three days. Hang in there you two!
