Postby Raetish3 » February 4th, 2006, 5:34 am

Well, I just want to know if people are having more success with just doing just the five shakes a day and their "lean & green" then if they were having the soups, bars,& chili..... I decided to just order shakes this month which just arrived and I want to know success rates either way...

I really cheated last night feel like crap.... ate chinese last nite I had general tso's and shrimp in coconut sauce no rice, but I did eat 3 dim sum.... how bad did I kill my ketosis???

I have a HUGE, HUGE ...addiction to food especially chinese and I am trying to break old habits... I feel I do better when at work... I drink all my H2o at work and really stick to the plan 5 days a week on weekends I screw up..... I need to be down to 200 by june for my daughters graduation which means I need to lose 39 more lbs... Is this realistic???

ANY FEED BACK WILL BE APPRECIATED... :D RAE

Raetish

Your goal is very realtistic. I too find that the weekends are difficult for me. I don't think there is a difference depending on what products you use as long as you are not having more than one bar a day. If I may suggest something for you that works for me pretty good is that next time you are faced with food you really want tell yourself that you can have that food just not right now, I am sure that Chinese food will still be around when you reach goal. I tell myself that all the time cause I too am a Chinese food fanatic. You probably did throw yourself out of ketosis :tears: but don't worry we are all here for you as you get back on the wagon and on your way to a healthier thinner you

YOU CAN DO IT

Raetish, If you want to lose 39 lbs. by June, you can very easily, but only if you do a U turn at the chinese restaurant for awhile. Tough love, here. You do more damage to yourself than just the extra calories. Physically, you will have another struggle getting back into ketosis and the MSG in that stuff will make your body retain water. Psychologically, well, you already know. You feel worse than if you hadn't cheated, right? You can't look in the mirror and say "I'm doing my best!".

The good news - all is not lost! You are jumping right back on to the program and that's the most productive thing you can do towards meeting your goals. Take some time to think about what made you weak. If you can't resist chinese, don't drive past chinese restaurants for awhile. Don't let the family have chinese for awhile....just don't be around it. As you have more victories in this program, your resolve will strengthen and you will find that no one could pay you enough to take a bite off program. It takes some time, though. Don't beat yourself up. Just move on and learn from past mistakes. Just think about your goal and how healthy and happy you will be when you succeed!

We're all pullin' for ya. ;)

Nancy's mantra works fairly well for me. When I was confronted with the garlic mashed potatoes (I'd made with my own hands, no less) at my hubby's birthday dinner, I repeated over and over, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." It reminds me that what I'm aiming for is not 20 minutes of gratification by eating any particular food, but a lifetime of health and thinness, and that really is worth more to me than anything else. I also like Lisa's suggestion, of reminding ourselves that we can have [insert food of choice] later, just not right now.

If all else fails, you could always move to Southern Oregon. We are the black hole of decent Chinese food. There are several Chinese restaraunts, but none of them are good enough to tempt you off your diet. *Sigh* It's very sad, especially after having grown up near San Francisco (LOTS of excellent Chinese food!). On the other hand, it's one less temptation to deal with. ;)

Good for you for seeking help from the forum, instead of just fading off the program. You'll make it!

As far as realistic goals, it's very individual. Only you know what kind of loser you are. For most people on here, 40 pounds in four months is doable. For slow losers like me, I could never lose that much that quickly.

But either way, it's a safe bet that if you stick with the program, you'll weigh noticeably less by June than you do now.
