Hi. I'm new to Medifast. I was interested in finding out other people's experiences who are on methimazole (aka tapizol) and are hyperthyroid. My (new) doctor told me about this diet but now I'm a little nervous about the interaction with soy and I'm thinking she didn't realize what she recommended to me!

Hi and welcome! I do not know anything about the medication and interaction with soy. I would guess that your doctor would not mention the Medifast plan if he/she was not aware that it is primarily soy based. I would verify with the office (doctor's office) before making a decision if you aren't sure. Best wishes to you!
