Hello!

Postby j0j0ruca » February 7th, 2007, 11:51 am

I figured I would go ahead and introduce myself since I have been lurking here for a bit.

In a nutshell I am a 29 year old middle school teacher from Southern CA.

I've always been heavy and about 3-4 years ago I did go from 250 to 200 with a plan similiar to medifast's maintance. Needless to say I have slowly gained all but the last 10 pounds back. My clothes were starting to fit too tight and I decided I needed to do something again - this time realizing what I needed to do and stick to. Alex (alpha) pointed me to this board one day.

I started MF on Friday (wanted to see how my tummy would handle the products) but Monday was my official start date - good thing since being in the ER Saturday night and Sunday night with the boyfriend didn't allow me to keep on my MF plan. He is ok - he just was diagnosed with Bell's.

I've been MFing for the past 3 days and everything is going great. I'm not feeling hungry at all or snacking in class like I use to. I know my biggest obsticale to overcome will be getting my water in. As a teacher ( most of my day is in 2 100 minute blocks) I find it hard to get to the bathroom - even more so since the teacher's restroom is downstairs while I am upstairs.

I'm excited to be here!

I assume she means Bell's palsy. I hope he recovers quickly; the one person I knew who had it was back to normal a few months later. It must have been scary, though, before you found out what it was.

And welcome. Any friend of Alex's is a friend of ours. I look forward to hearing about your progress. (And I guess you can try to squeeze in most of the water before and after work, and drink less during. Or chug it a little while before you know you're going to have a break. ... Or there's always Depends. Ha.)

Yes - Bell's Palsy. It wasn't that bad - according to the ENT. You really couldn't tell he was "drooping". He is getting feeling back in his face. He caught it early I guess - only 2 days went by before seeking help.

lol@depends made me think of that recent astronaut diaper thing in the news.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome JoJo~ I am a middle school teacher in Missouri and I completely understand about the inability to use the restroom when you need to. I still try to drink as much water as I can throughout the day. The teachers around me are great at covering my class........ should the sudden need arise  . So far it has worked out fine. I think I am training my bladder to only need to go between the 75 minute classes that we have. I guess I may be giving too much information here. ;)

Anyway, welcome to the forum.

I was thinking the same thing, Alex...
except that it was the Silver Fox and she would NEVER be so rude.
But, it still made me snort laugh!!
