Hello Again

Postby MusicalMomma » January 2nd, 2007, 10:15 am

Hello fellow medifaster's! It's good to see so many of you still plugging along and enjoying your healthy lifestyle.

I went off of medifast around Easter last year...I got on the scale today...and you guessed it...all but 3.5 pounds are back!

My husband is getting the Lap Band surgery in June, he's 400ish lbs. I was going to do it. My consultation is scheduled for the 8th. BUT after much prayer and soul searching, I decided that I need to give medifast one last solid effort before taking that step. We have perfect peace for DH to do it, but I'm not at that point.

Our family joined the YMCA today and the entire family has made a committment to living healthy. I know the next 3-7 days will be rough, but I'll just keep reading this forum and draw strength from your advice and support.

Happy New Year!!

ps...Unca...sadly, I need to be removed from the 50# club :(

Good luck to you and your hubby. I also thought about doing the surgery but luckily I'm having success at MF.

Hi Joyce, so good to see you back, you were missed!! There are not too many among us who haven't had their 'ups and downs' on the program. Most important, we are still willing to keep plugging at it! Glad you are here again! :D

Joyce,
Glad you are back. I had gastric bypass surgery in November of 2003 (had never heard of medifast). I will say it was successful for a time, but as they say with it, its not brain surgery (doesn't change the way you think).
I can't say that I would have done medifast instead of surgery, but looking at it now, I think medifast is perfect for people that have had a gastric bypass (including lap band).
This is just MOHO.
I hope that this finds you encouraged, and perhaps may encourage your DH to possibly try medifast as well.
If either of you has any questions that I might be able to help with, please PM me.

Hi Joyce!

I remember you! I've been "playing with MF" since the end of Oct...not doing it correctly. I've been back on for about a week and am feeling much better. I think you made a great decision!! Good to have you back! :)
