Has anyone tried freezing their RTD's?

Postby Lulie » June 6th, 2006, 8:07 pm

OK,

I have finally ordered some RTD's and am really looking forward to getting them. I need something for when I am on the run and these should work. Then I got to wondering if we just froze them, and stuck them in the car/purse, they would thaw throughout the day and maybe at least be cool when we drink them. Has anyone else tried this?

I know with the juice boxes that you can get for kids you can freeze them, stick them in the lunch box, and by noon they are ready to drink and still cold. So I wondered if we could do the same with our RTD's?

Would appreciate any opinions and to see if anyone else has tried this and how it worked out. I would hate to waste one once I get it! LOL

Yes,
I froze them and as they thaw they turn into a shake. Its really tasty. I prefer it, especially when its hot and you want a milkshake. lol

RTD is a premixed Ready To Drink. You don't have to add the water. You can just pop the top and drink.

Hi, great idea!! :D I just placed a big order of the RTD's, and freezing them will be great for taking to the beach and leaving in a hot car, while running errands(actually, they are pretty good warm!). My brain is not always tip-top!!! Thanks again! :D :D Joan

Someone (Dayna? Diana?) was just saying in the Lean Cuisine section that if you freeze 'em and snip off the top, it's sort of like ice cream.

I ordered 2 chocolate and 2 'niller RTDs with my last order. That's one of each flavor for DS and me to try. I must admit they are pretty tasty and very convenient, too. :eat: I ordered a case of each. I look forward to trying them frozen. We are supposed to be in for a hot summer out here in the valley. I may be (figuratively) melting  while I'm (literally) melting! :D

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it.

I got mine and tried one frozen yesterday. It wasn't too bad.

I prefer the taste of the powdered chocolate shakes (I know, I am weird), but these will be great for on the go.

Thanks again, and have a great weekend.

Lulie, I actually prefer the powdered ones, too, but the RTD chocs are sure handy! (In fact, I can't quite get the vanilla ones down except under duress.)

One of the things I like about this program is that I don't have to eat it if I don't really, really like it! What a luxury!! :eat:
