Grilled Asparagus- YUMMY!

Postby macielnv » April 4th, 2006, 8:09 am

I wanted to share a wonderful yummy recipe with everyone.

Spray the asparagus with Pam the sprinkle some Mrs Dash Lemon Pepper Seasoning.
Throw them on the grill and let them cook for about 20 minutes or so, turning every so often. I like mine a little well done but they are soooo yummy!

Enjoy!

:bib: yummy! I bet it would work on the George Foreman grill!

I also like to grill up yellow squash, zucchini, garlic, and onions with a little fresh cracked pepper and Mrs. Dash. :flip: It's delish!

I know this may sound dumb but Okay if you use fresh asparagus how much do you eat? It is so long and hard to measure. Do not laugh at me..
That sounds so yummy to me. I will have to try that. I am learning so much on here! :D

Funny you posted this, I just had some last night, sprayed some olive oil and balsamic vinegar on and sprinkled with some kosher salt too. Put it on a cookie sheet, popped it into the over at 425 degrees for 15 minutes and ate them like french fries!!!!!

As for quantity, I think it would depend on the size of the stalks, mine were the smaller ones and I think I had 10 or so...

No such thing as a dumb question CB. ;)

I usually just cook up a buttload of it, cut it into pieces small enough to fit in my measuring cup, measure out 1 1/2 cups (unless I'm having another green with it too) and chow down. *cough* making it last at least 15 minutes though!
What I have left I stick in the fridge for the next day.

You could cut it up to measure one time and then weigh the 1 1/2 cups. The next time, you would know how much 1 1/2 cups weighs, and you wouldn't have to cut it up.

Does this sound right?

When it comes to vegetables, I just kind of wing it. After a while, I think I've gotten pretty accurate with my guesses when it comes to that sort of thing.

Me, too. With fresh asparagus, I probably have 10-15 stalks of the thinner ones. I love 'em either grilled or roasted. with just a bit of olive oil spray, kosher salt and fresh pepper.

Another Roasted Vegetable

Postby lan » April 4th, 2006, 5:11 pm

Another vegetable that I like to grill is eggplant. Like someone mentioned above, sprinkle with a few drops of balsamic vinegar (or Walden's Balsamic Vinegarette dressing) some olive oil flavored Pam, and grill.

I also do a mixed grill in the summer when grilling outdoors, salmon, zucchini, eggplant, asparagus. You can make enough for a couple of meals, if you choose. It is nice to have a little variety in the veggies, just don't eat too much.
