Expiration Dates

Postby JeepGirl » January 12th, 2007, 7:12 pm

I did a swap with someone and when I received mine last week they had an expiration date of Sept 06 on them.

I was wondering about the life of the product. I have swapped more than a few times and have never received something that was past its expiration date and would like y'all opinion on this.

I am thinking of doing a return to sender as I have not sent her my half yet.

I've used stuff a little past the date, but that's pretty darn expired. I'd send it back. Or at least start by e-mailing her about the oversight. Ahem.

I've heard that the packets are good for a year after the exp. date.

My first few weeks on Medifast I used all expired packets because I wasn't going to invest in new product if I didn't know I could do it this time. Since then I have placed two orders.

I just did my first trade with someone and I was guilty of the same thing  I receiced a very polite email informing me of my blunder. I had no idea there was even an expiration date to check!

I would email the person ... chances are they didn't do it deliberately.

i seriously doubt the expiration date matters that much. the soy isn't going to break down that quickly. i'd just use those products first.

Crackers

Postby eddieHoustonTX » February 22nd, 2007, 10:49 am

I am currently using some expired product too. I think that the crackers are the only things that really taste nasty after they expire. Logically, the most important thing is that the protein and the vitimans do not deteriorate. I don't know about that. Does anyone?
