Hi Everyone

Postby MnMomOfTwins » February 1st, 2005, 4:43 pm

Hi Ya! I wanted to drop a line and introduce myself. I'm on my fourth week of Medifast and I just joined the forum tonight. I'll be checking in from time to time go get the 411 and say hi.

As I said, I'm on my forth week on the Complete Medifast and I've already lost 15.6 pounds!! I love this stuff!!!!!!!!!! I'm trying to loose weight for an upcoming wedding in April. Hopefully, I can make my goal by then of 60 pounds in 12 weeks. Heck.........if I can do that in time for this wedding I'll be at my high school weight. (Now that is enough to inspire me!!)

I am a mother of adorable twin boys. :stroll: And since they are almost 3.....I am quickly loosing the excuse of having baby fat. My number one weight loss goal is to loose weight so I can be a better role model for my boys!!! I come from short, round, German-Norweigen-Minnesotants and we love our hot dishes!!! We don't cook any thing without a stick of butter and a "cream of something" soup. So, if I don't do something now.....pretty soon I'll be a circle!! If anyone has some good recipes to share I'd love it. I'm going to make sure to check out the recipes in here too.

Thanks for encouragement so far and I can't wait to hear from everyone. I'll be sure to check in and peek at the board. Good luck and best wishes to everyone. And please drop me a line if you want a chatting buddy.

Take care!! - MnMomOfTwins!

Welcome aboard the Medifast ship. You're going to enjoy the voyage. Don't worry about the rough water you'll experience from time to time.
Keep on shakin' thru the rough and calm waters just like the rest of the team. Shake by shake you'll get to your destination!
Congrats!

Welcome MnMomofTwins! I'm new here also (in fact, I'm still waiting for my first order!), but this is the best group of people I've ever known. I've got about 180 pounds to lose, so I'm in this for the "long haul" (although hopefully not that long!).

Sit down, buckle up, grab a shake and hang on for a wild ride on the train to Thinville!

Welcome MnMomofTwins!

We have about the same weight loss goal (or I should say that I HAD the same as you). I lost 70 pounds in 5 1/2 months, so I think your goal is doable. Drinking AT LEAST 100 oz of water a day EVERY day will really help. I know the guidelines are less, but when you're losing weight, drinking more than 60 oz a day will flush your system a lot more effectively. As you probably know already, when on MF, you've got more energy than you ever imagined, which I'm sure comes in pretty handy with twins. Having your new thinner shape at your reunion will make it so much more enjoyable, for you and everyone else! Stay the course - you can do it!

:exercise: Thank you all so much!! I just can't wait until this wedding! I'm a little scared of when I get there though. We arrive in Orlando about 5 days before the wedding so I have to bring my MF with me and maybe eat a light dinner with everyone......a little lean and green. It will be nice though with all the shrimp options!! I just don't want to gain a single pound so I don't fit into my brides maid dress when the big day comes. I just can't wait to go shopping for skinny summer dresses and shorts!! Holly cows......did I just say I can't wait to go shopping? OMG a first for me in years!! I'm marking this one on the calendar! Oh yah....Ms. Hawaii, I'm drinking at least 135 ounces of pure H2O. The only thing is that I'm still lacking the energy department, even after 3 weeks. Any clues? Thanks so much! You all are such good help! Take care all.

Welcome and congrats on going the forum and :yippee: ,losing 15 already! Your doing fantastic.
I know you must be busy, busy with the twins. My daughter had precious twin girls soon to be 3 in feb. They really keep her hopping.
You said you were still tired or no energy? Are you taking vitamins with medifast? If not please start....it really does help. I know your busy with the twins but still try to rest when you can. You might check in with Nancy or Lisa to see what they can recommend. I stayed tired for quite awhile when I first started...I think my body went into shock  from losing weight and was trying to demand I feed it more food, it lost that battle! Everyone reacts different so be sure and check in with our health advisors, they always have great input. Ask the question on the weight area too, I'm sure you'll get alot of input that others have tried.
Hang in there.

Welcome, MNMomofTwins (from another mom of twins). I too have been doing this for about month. It's such a great program! I have recently come up with a great "recipe" for those that like spicy Chinese food. It's close anyway. I saute some cabbage, onions and portabello mushrooms (and chicken or pork) with some McCormacks Szechuan seasoning and some Lite Teriyaki Sauce (15 Cal per serving) and a drop or two of Spicy Szechuan Sauce. It is SO good and really tastes like Chinese.

Good luck with MF. You've found a great support system.

Greetings “Twins Mom from MN”

135 oz is a WHOLE lot of water. Good for you. With this amount of consumption, I am sure you have your keyboard in the ladies room, and at least must be visiting there 20 times a day. With all this water, you are definitely washing all of the sodium out of your body. Are you consuming any bullion? If not, I would recommend 2-3 cups of hot water, with 3-4 bullion cubes in it. You need some sodium, and this just might do the trick, especially since you are doing the full fast… Additionally the potassium your flushing is a must-replace. Are you taking any multi vitamins? If not, do so.

Keep us posted, and welcome!

Hello MNmom,

I too am from Minnesota. Its nice to have someone in my neck of the woods.

I have been on MF for 3-1/2 weeks now and am on the 5&1.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things. Just take the previous advice of the multivitamin and the boullion to add the sodium back in and you should be bouncing with energy! :boing: The twins won't be able to keep up with you!

Hang in there, and I look forward to talking to you more.
