DAY 2!!!!!!!

Postby Sharon » May 6th, 2007, 5:01 pm

Hi everyone!! Thanks yall for answering my first post. Sorry I didnt write on my first day. The ONLY good thing about day 1 was I did it and made it through the day.
I didnt do much kindda just lounged around the house since I had it to myself. Plus I kept a headache all day. It really wasnt that bad till the end of the day like by 7pm.
Today my day 2 is going LOTS better NO headache except when I first woke up but not since then.
Let me tell you Im starting at a high weight of 233.5 lbs. Im not gonna step on the scale till next week so hopefully I will see a big change. But mostly I dont want to get in a habit of weighing everyday and that being what sets my mood each day. You know what I mean?
WOW the banana and the orange delight shakes are yummy!!!! Oh yea for a while I am not having my morning coffee so orange delight will be my breakfast drink.
Hope everyone else is having a great day and I will talk to yall in the morning.

Hi Sharon!

In my past starts, the headache has gone away in the first 1-2 days. But if you drink a lot of coffee normally, maybe you are going through caffeine withdrawals??

Hey, you stuck with it and got through the hardest part. Yay for you! :D

Ooh, I still have my one cup of coffee every single morning. We are allowed up to 3 servings of caffeine a day. :) Just watch the creamer. I use Coffee-mate Sugarfree French Vanilla, only 1 TBSP.

I am a caffeine addict so I drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day. The only reason we are limited on caffeinated beverages is because it gives some people the jitters. We are limited to lightening three cups of coffee a day, although I usually only do one or two, using a tablespoon of half & half.

Actually, my understanding, based on the HA handbook and other info I've been given, is that caffeine has adverse effects on the body. Caffeine increases acid production in the stomach, and given the smaller amounts of food in the stomach and the greater amounts of water we are cleansing with, more acid can lead to problems such as ulcers and the like.
Also, caffeine, being a stimulant, leads to hunger, which is BAD.

I suppose if you had appetite suppression shakes along with the caffeine, you could counteract that... kinda like having a diet coke with a snickers bar. ;)

Thanks for the info Mike but it hasn't harmed me yet and I have been drinking coffee since I was 10 years old. I was just going by the info in the QuickStart guide. It is odd that you would think stimulants increase hunger since amphetamines and cocaine reduce hunger. The diet drug phentermine is also a stimulant which also reduces hunger. I defer to your superior knowledge of such things.

Yeah, kinda doesn't make sense when we think about it. Caffeine is a milder stimulant, so it doesn't make us do the weird things that speed and cocaine causes someone to do. It simply opens up the blood vessels allowing for an increase in heart rate, which can cause us to think we are hungry, even when we aren't.
Thanks for the vote of confidence.... although alot of it comes from the fact that I had to learn stuff I didn't really want to in college... ;)

I blend the hot cocoa with ice and a little SF chcolate Torani. I also have done the Chaie Latte frapp style. Almost like a Pumpkin Spice Frapp.
