Chai Latte - how to make it NOT thick

Postby Karakuri » June 27th, 2006, 9:00 pm

so i've made a few of the chai lattes and found that they always end up with a half inch of thick uhm... well... stuff at the top. is there a way to make it not so thick?

it's not very latte like to have a thick top!

anyway, if ANYONE has any pointers i'm willing to listen/read. i like the drink except for the barrier i have to pass to get to the liquid.

I like them a lot. But, I always get that sediment on the bottom, too. Usually when I get near it, I add in some more water and stir it up as I get to it. I have this weird feeling like the vitamins and stuff are supposed to be in me and end up in the bottom of the cup.

The only thign that I haev found helps is I use a tall cup and keep the sppon nearby. I always add more water in anyway. I like the taste, but I know what you mean about leftover sludge

yeh i love the taste as well, but that weird layer at the top and bottom made me think i was doing something wrong. i'll just keep the spoon near me and keep stirring it then. or maybe i should see if there's a way to make the chai latte into a food and not a drink. :P

I make frozen Chai's and LOVE them! I have one just about every day.
I also use a straw to slurp it down. Image

I use 7 ozs of cold water, add my Chai packet, toss in some ice and blend away. I do this with the Cappuccino and the Hot Chocolate as well. ;)

I put the water and chai latte in a bowl, whisk it till my arm is about to fall off and then pour it in a mug. Oh, and I add a little more water than the directions tell you to use.

I gotta try it frozen though...LOVE the frozen hot cocoa! :D
